So, that was a sintered brass filter. My Air Arms s510 has them clearly visible at the fill probe. Sintered brass filters create a peace of mind second only to enlightenment. Sorry, I’ve always liked those things, especially in engines, so easy to clean and reuse!

Thanks for the thorough answers. I never had luck with the JSB monsters either. But my AA s510 loves the JSB 15.9 grains, super tight groups. Don’t know what the effective range is on those. The ‘cudas doubtless carry a punch for longer.
