I can fabricate a stronger valve by myself but can’t see any reasons to buy an expensive rifle just to fix it.

For dovetail mount, I use fiberglass + epoxy shim on the inner face of the ring. By using the ring and the scope as the mold and apply shim to both rings, any mis-alignment between the rings can be taken out totally.
