No machining needed and really quiets hammer-slap down.

When screwed in it sits about 3/8″ proud; basically acts as a rubber bumper on the bottom of the stock end. Be kinda cool to counter-sink it a bit but this way when I remove it there’s just a tiny hole there.
Now if only the UPS-fairy would bring me a real scope….

I’d been thinking about a TT tophat, either the one-piece or the one with different inserts. Finding I much prefer shooting the heavier pellets at decent power so figure inserts would be low-yield. Loudness depends on PW setting of course; around 2 there is almost no muzzle sound; all hammer slap. At high power (6+) and particularly with 30gr+ pellets there is a definite air discharge sound.
