<p>Just got a 457 Texan LSS and am almost afraid to open it up for cleaning and lube.  Any good disassembly vids out there?</p>
<p>What is recommended to clean the barrel with that won&#8217;t damage the o-rings/seals?</p>
<p>Also is anyone using oil or lube on the bullets?</p>
<p>This thing is fun and want to keep it that way.</p>

<p>The barrel is a 24&#8243; I got.from Tony some years ago.  I chopped the choke off and recrowned it.  Polished the bore with Flitz.  Just over 22&#8243; now and shoots great.<br />

The best investment for heavy pellets you will make it creates a consistent starting pressure so the pellet starts moving consistently from shot to shot. <p>For future work, get yourself a piece of PVC tube.  Slide it over the barrel down to the bushing and use it to push the barrel into place.<br />
Much easier and no possibility of damaging the crown.</p>

<p>Place them on a sheet of glass/mirror alonside a straight-edge.  Let them roll slowly across the glass and mark where they reach the other side.</p>

<p>Frame-flex causes major issues with new-to-AF shooters.  Ergonomics just plain suck.<br />
Learn the quirks and adjust shooting habits and its a non-issue.<br />
Use a Maddog stock or similar, and most of that flex is eliminated.</p>
<p>Loc-tite is your friend.  Once you have things dialed in, KEEP it dialed in.<br />

<p>The bronze one RC is referring to I bought at ACE.  Its slighly under 1&#8243; in diameter and weighed somewhere around 78 grams.<br />
I trimmmed it slightly and now it weighs 75g.<br />
Been using it with no problems at all for 3 years now. 									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A rifle more or less freely slides across the bags during the shot, while the bipod will lever the rifle up/down/sideways depending on the angle of the legs in relation to the surface they sit on.</p>
<p>Its less pronounced with PCP&#8217;s due to the little recoil movement, but it is there nonetheless.</p>

If you are planning on ratting or otherwise in an urban environment, you probably want a shroud cuz its going to sound like a .22LR without one and that gets peoples attention in a hurry.</p>

This valve wont produce good power in larger calibers without speeding up the hammer strike considerably, and usually just causes other bad things to happen.</p>

<p>Your not likely to see any difference on the chrony, just get rid of the lead.</p>

My experience is backwards from yours.  My rifle prefers Benjimans but only barely.  A very close 2nd is JSB and then Kodiaks.<br />
All 3 will print groups like you are showing, but the Benjis are pretty consistent for me.</p>

<p>Opening the baffles up is not.</p>
<p>Alignment is key to accuracy with a shroud.  Even after you open up the holes, the bullet/pellet is closer on one side and could still be upset by pressure imbalance.</p>

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If I&#8217;m not mistaken his shroud tube is screwed to the custom forward barrel bushing.  I thought that&#8217;s how RL shrouds went together?</p>
<p>If that&#8217;s the case he might have to try a shim of some sort on the tight side of the shroud to help it center up.  The tube goes from the end of the frame to the bushing threads. Shim at the end of the frame.</p>
