Its actually an 8X14 and is the same model that Lathemaster sells without some of the goodies like the back splash or the faceplate. 									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>You can chuck the spring in a drill chuck and spin the end on sand paper or a stone.</p>
<p>This also works if you want a down and dirty way to reduce spring strength. Chuck spring in chuck and squeeze sandpaper around spring length as you spin it slowly.  If your careful this works well.</p>

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Ive seen small lathe style three jaw chucks that are made for drill presses.  They arent big but they might go to 3&#8243; on the outside of the jaws, inside the pipe.</p>
<p>Your not going to do much machining in a set up like that though.  Lots of vibration and not much in the way of speed choices.</p>

It was the same concept as this one.  Folks didnt like that one because of all the losses and inconsistencies of the pellet jumping from the mag to the barrel.</p>

<p>Well, I take that back, I do like the safeties on my XD.  It gives me a false sense of security when I tuck it into the front of my pants when I go for a walk or to the mailbox ).</p>

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As far as Chinise goes there are some good lathes out there BUT I dont think you will see 100 year old Chinise lathes still doing great work like the old American and English iron out there, they just arent as solid.</p>

<p>Check out the Saiga 12. 12g shotgun built on the AK frame. You can load it hot and get into the light 10mm stuff.  10mm is super expensive, not as easy to find and takes longer to get back on target. 10mm also has a bigger grip for guys like me with small hands. For defense I like .45 but I went with a XD .40 compact for concealed carry.</p>
