They are pretty much bullet proof, everything can be rebuilt, parts are available, and if properly taken care of  it will last a couple of lifetimes.<br />

I think everything you need to pull off a build is included in those books. All my builds are based on mr Buckley&#8217;s ideas, i just altered the layout a bit.<br />

I don&#8217;t use coolant when machining, except when cutting some of the more &#8220;sticky&#8221; alloys&#8230; then i use spray on etanol or WD40.<br />

finally got around to cut a trigger guard for my gun. The trigger guard is cut from a piece of 7075. it is held in place by the stock fixing screw (M6). The entire gun can be taken to pieces with three allen keys. If it hadn&#8217;t been for the grub screw in the trigger it would have been enough with two different keys to strip it.. yesterday i fitted a rubber butt pad, a grip cap, did some final polishing and put on some &#8220;tung tree oil&#8221;&#8230; Just three small things to do before it&#8217;s complete; make a cut out in the fore end for the quick fill probe, cut a trigger guard, and make a fixing point for my bipod.<br />

i&#8217;m pretty much done with the metal part of the build now. Just need to cut a nice trigger blade, swap some screws, and maybe cut a new bolt handle. I have shot it a couple of times in my basement, almost spot on 10m. It&#8217;s not that easy to shoot witout a stock&#8230;, but it functions well. i have now reshaped some of the parts and have a working trigger unit! Late last night i also cut the slot in the receiver block, drilled for the cross pin, turned a striker (no &#8220;slingshot&#8221; yet..) so that i could function test it.<br />

please let me know if i bore you with this. Heres what i&#8217;ve done tonight; cut the mag slot, cut a slot in the receiver block for the &#8220;dog&#8221; that pulls the striker back, cross drilled and threaded the bolt. I cut the slot so that i have a bolt opening angle of 40degrees.<br />

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As long as it not is bent you should be able to chuck in in a lathe and take a very light cut to clean up the sealing surface. Best done with the valve in a collet chuck. Have you checked the valve seat for scratches/debris?<br />

The sealing surface is cut at 60degree taper.. the valve seat is turned from acetal and the centerdrill produces a hole in it with a 60degree taper to match. shaft diam 4.75mm, head diam 6.0mm<br />

I just can&#8217;t find the charger for my camera&#8230; The bolt part of the receiver is pretty much done, only thing left there is to machine a slot for the pin that will retract the striker and lock the bolt when the handle is in closed position.. see felt tip CAD-file&#8230;<br />

Heres the result of todays work&#8230; only had 45min. Started on the airbottle adaptor. Turned a piece of 25mm shaft to 22mm and cut a 1,5mm pitch thread. I hand crank my lathe when threading up to a shoulder; a good work out! I have two lathes; one SoutBend 9&#8243; clone, and one unusual bench lathe with a vertical travel headstock &#8211; that makes it very useful as a horisontal milling machine.
