									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>With practice I might be able to use the .308 hammer beyond 75 yards, but I think it&#8217;s best to use it inside that for now. I just have to get use to holding the gun and keeping it steady when cranking the power wheel up. A good tripod may definitely be in order.</p>

<p>I will agree that this bullet is not the most accurate, but what you are seeing is me pulling as I shoot.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve turned the power wheel down to pw4 and as low as pw2 with the groups getting tighter because there is less jolt from the hammer but the power is down to 220fpe to 200fpe.</p>

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Here&#8217;s the 158 grain hammer at 50 yards on a windy day.  These groups could be tighter if it was locked down, but that&#8217;s not how  I will be using it. I&#8217;m still learning to hold the gun and trying to overcome the heavy hammer.</p>
<p>With a 26&#8243; barrel it&#8217;s making between 240fpe to 220fpe.<br />

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I think you missed the next shot string. The one with the 730 was from cranking it up to pw 11 to see what would happen.<br />
It&#8217;s shooting really good at 3000-2000 now over 9 shots from 920-820fps on pw 6.<br />
On pw0 it seems to be shifting it down 20fps. Both seem to be pretty efficient if you consider 111psi per shot is being used.</p>

<p>I only had a 8 pound spring and it wasn&#8217;t enough with the .088 tophat.</p>
<p>Even with the 13 pound spring the .088 tophat setting was not enough. I&#8217;ve made a smaller spacer and now have a .093 setting.</p>

<p>There are several things different in my gun setup, but the one creating a problem is the spinlock that I had added. Notice how my breech is hitting the spin lock and only moving the tophat .075&#8243;. </p>

<p>I bought a jds regulator but have never used it since I thought that I would not have enough volume and air flow to push a 308. It wouldn&#8217;t be an issue with 22 or 25 caliber and I believe with the extra volume in Doug&#8217;s valve it won&#8217;t be an issue for the 308 now. <p>I asked for holes for a fill nipple and a gauge and the length to be just a little longer than his last. </p>

<p>I see people with a Corsair 357 and it seems like they are able to shoot a wider range of bullet sizes. Of course the .357 is a shorter and fatter pistol round. Does anyone know what the corsair twist rates are in the 308 and 357 guns?</p>

The 90 grain are not too bad, but the accuracy difference between them and moving to the 122 grain is very noticeable. The 90 grain seem more random and inconsistent in a 1.5&#8243; to 2&#8243; group. </p>

<p>Or the heavier pellet was able to create a valve dwell at the higher pressure and have enough velocity to shoot where as the lighter pellet had valve lock at 2850psi?</p>

<p>Keep in mind that I&#8217;ve been doing low elevation testing on this 308. Since Randy is in Colorado, it&#8217;s a whole lot easier to move thin air than my thick and humid Arkansas air.</p>

<p>I only had a couple 122 grains bullets left to shoot over the crony so I moved to a 92 grain bullet.</p>
<p>768fps with the 94 gram hammer and 11/32 seat vs 848 with the 74 gram hammer and stock seat.</p>

<p>That&#8217;s why I&#8217;m thinking inconsistency in high PW setting and it needs more hammer weight. </p>
<p>I shot the 122grain 8-0 first, then the 12-0 and had those readings. Then I shot the 52grain 12-0 and then the 8-0 last.</p>
