Will you be casting some .458 for the Texan or do you think your .457 ammo will be better? Don’t have my Texan in hand yet but think I read on here someone who already got theirs saying they needed .458. So far all I ordered were the cheap .457 from PA till I know what size is really needed then I can order some more accurately sized from you. Thanks

Right, my other big bore does not, but I have been wondering if the Texan would. It would not be a good idea but my wondering is based on their other barrels. DYOTAT, if it’s a .457 barrel would you suggest .457 or .458 cast bullets?

Hope TOFAZFOU sees this post. A question: Many will recommend .458 ammo for a .457 barrel. Your thoughts? And what about when a choked barrel is used? With choked barrel would you want to stay with nominal size? i.e. .457 ammo in the case of a choked .457 barrel. I am on the preorder list at PA since the Texan first came up and am sure I will find…Read more

Knifemaker, I just got the rl extreme valve in my condor .25. I was a little disappointed today when I took it out for some chrony time. Everything else on the gun is stock. With the original valve I was able to get 907 fps from a 53 gn bullet. New valve got max of 930 with same bullet. So originally was close to 97 fpe and now almost 102 fpe.…Read more

Just got the RL extreme valve and one piece top hat in my condor .25. No other mods. Stock 24″ barrel. Before I was getting 907 fps with 53gn bullets from hunter’s supply. This weekend I will post the chrony results with same bullet.
