What I meant is, the body of the older CO2 adaptor used to
stretch quite a bit lower when screwd tightly to the tank. It
seems about 1/4 inch shorter now with the new one. Sorry
for the confusion.
* The treads on the CO2 tank is still well covered after CO2
adaptor is screwed to the tank.

Cheers,

I received a brand new adaptor within a week. WOW, what a
service ! I can’t say enough about the folks at AF airguns. Professional, polite and understanding.

There is a day and night difference between my old adaptor and the new one. The new one punches very hard at
the power level of 10. I might keep the SS on the CO2 diet
for a while 😉

Thanks Bean for all your help. I live in the Dallas area. I
am fixing to call AF today and try to send it in. I appreciate
your offer though.

This is my 2nd CO2 adaptor and I am begining to think there is a design flaw with the valve.

P.S. My SS has no problems whatsoever with the stock air tank. It hits hard and is a tack driver. I use the…Read more

I have a stock .17 SS. I don’t have a chrony but I have
shot a pellet into a phone book that didn’t even penetrate.

I also used another CO2 tank to no avail. The tophat is very
stiff though. I believe the adaptor gets filled with gas but the
valve fails to release the gas via the tophat. A lot of CO2 gas
escape when I finally detach the adaptor…Read more

Thanks Maw. I believe you showed me how to fix it.

I fixed it by grabbing a screwdriver with a semi-circular plastic
end.

I placed the plastic end of the screw driver on the Co2 valve
pin and tapped the other end with a small hammer (very gently). I could feel a small amount of Co2 gas thru my fingers.

I slapped the adaptor back on the Co2 tank…Read more

Yes, The Co2 adaptor and the Co2 tank are tightly connected.

I thought about using a different brand of Co2 tank but which one to choose?

P.S. AF should have made the pin on the Co2 adaptor about
1/16″ longer.

Thanks for the replies.
