Say hello to my Lil friend…….
Waited a year for it to arrive….serial #6 . First impression is it needs some wood on it somewhere, stock and grips. I am used to MCTs, Royales, 410, edgun and so on. Got to get a scope for it now. I’m good for rifle scopes, poor on pistol scopes. What does the team recommend ?

For sure RS the barrel isn’t the be all and end all, I just see a short barrel on a big rig a little like a big V8 with a short gearbox…
Riverside,
Did you see your ex gripframe on my crow killing post today. You could make it a much better deal and sell me that repeater breech.

With my super dangerous Hipac I get 10 shots in the 650 -700 range, I am going to have B&A cut me a 15.5 Disco tube and B&A Disco valve for it next month, then if I can get some kind of magazine, I will snub my nose at Mrod pistols.
I can’t get my computers to give me Rim emailaddress, so I guess I will just write them.
Roachcreek
does the pistol have an adjustable valve like the rifle?
Manual says that it comes set for 2900psi and can be adjusted for use at 3000psi, or down too 2500 (i think).
On another note, while I have still not found a rubber band in the entire house (so my chrony is still useless), I did lighten both adjustments and WOW did the sound level come down. Very acceptable now. Of course shot count and power levels will determine final adjustments.
Getting a little happier…
question for you new Pistola owners…
what is te listed fill pressure of these?
I see where everone is filling them to 3K but if they are running basically a stocker Disco tube platform I know from my own experience strange things can occur above 2500 psi usless you make some basic changes
I mean the Disco is rated at what?
a 2500# fill?
curious what the manual states as from what I have read folks are charging a Disco tube/valve to the same range as the larger rifle tube/valve
seems the numbers go up once the PSI comes down to the Disco range
#003 just arrived. Looks just like the others except for the sticker on the box and the ‘dot matrix’ engraving
Threw a rifle scope on it because it will probably end up as a carbine, but I did bench a few shots in pistol form. First impressions, more power than I expected and yes I started with 3000psi fill. Note that I’m judging power by duct seal penetration, I need to find a rubber band to get my chrony working.
The plastic looks better than the average crosman stuff in the pics… not so much in person. Feels thinner and lighter than normal 22xx stuff.
Trigger (out of the box) is great by my standards. It doesn’t compare to my EVO but why would I expect it to? It’s good enough that I won’t be touching it.
Sound level…. hmmmm… not impressed. I’m tempted to pull the shroud or at least the end cap and see if I can squeeze a TKO in there.
I fell for crosman advertising the 10 shot clips for the rifle in what looked like an accessories part of the page. Ordered 2. The only difference I can see between the 8 round mag and 10 round mag is the height of the loading port. If you could shave a 1/16th off the rifle mag, if might just work. I’ll be taking one of the rifle mags over to my machinist buddy this weekend and ask him to shave a hair at time… If successful I’ll report back.
Same is true for the single shot tray (including me falling for the ‘accessories’ type advertising).
nope Pabs, while folks froth on about barrel length being this all limiting factor this AR6 sends its 1st JSB Monster downhill at better than 900 FPS but declines rapidly each shot.

I get a bit over a mag full of decent shots out of it before recharge

I do think Crosman’s new pistol has excellent potential but it at least for me will need a bit of alteration to be “interesting” 😉
That said I really will not be at all critical of the gun as Crosman did a few things that I bitched about on the Yellow regarding their prototype guns and I was flamed hard over speaking my mind
the 1st bitch I had was that they were using a right handed bolt on a pistol, thats changed on the production guns.
2nd bitch I had was the use of the MROD rifle pressure tube on the handgun…way too much bulk and made the resulting pistol far too tall in the hand due too the diasmeter of the tube coupled with the breech
Thrid bitch I had was that Crosman screwed up by not offering a Disco compatible repeater breech on their pistol
lot of money to be made just in selling factory upgrade bits
not at all saying my posts influanced any of the changes but seemed commonsense shit to me and as they incorporated those changes in the production gun along with what looks to be a bit better trigger group than I expected I am actually pretty pleased with the result Crosman produced
does need a proper stock tho, this would be more or less a drop fit:

I have gun # 26 the only thing that seems off on it is the clip. I got in touch with crosman and they said they would put me one in the mail.
Here is the Crono results with 14.3 grain Benjamin Pellets.
2000 PSI
#1 649 #2 642 #3 637 #4 634 #5 637 #6 629 #7 630 #8 623 And that left 1700 PSI
Here 2400 PSI
#1 643 #2 642 #3 636 #4 635 #5 643 #6 635 #7 644 #8 643
Here is 2800 PSI
!3 623 #2 624 #3 640 #4 635 #5 638 #6 635 #7 638 #8 628
Now the pellets they sent wasn’t at all accurate but here is the results from them. 3000 PSI
#1 640 #2 610 #3 621 #4 637 #5 632 #6 645 #7 623 #8 648. Really some ups and downs lolol.
Here is those famous Diablo Exacts that we all brag about and they are tack drivers in this gun.
2500 PSI #1 589 #2 592 #3 598 #4 597 #5 602 #6 600 #7 601 #8 602 Used 300 Psi ending in 2200 psi. 8 shots 300 psi loss, not bad and the gun gets lots of shots, now we are looking at a 10″ barrel, I’d say with the light pellets this gun will do as advertised, all manufacturers use the lights to test their guns. So 14.3 is not the lightest, and I’d say with some magical hands this gun can do more because the cocking is real light and easy to do. Stronger spring maybe on both sides would do the trick. But this Gun Here will go unmodified and kept as is. it satisfies me, with the diablo exacts it will IMHO kill a Squirrel at 20 yards. 16.5 FPD’s is as advertised. So they are on the money this time.
In A Nut shell it’s a tack driving gun with the Diablo’s and even shoots hard with the 28 grain pellets although I didn’t think to Chrono any.
So that’s my 2 cents worth lolol. 😀
Surely thats whats causing the low fps then? Doesn’t matter what mods you do to it if you don’t put a longer barrel on there?
8” i think Pab
Pah, if they built them to UK specs, it would have to be sub 6fpe 😯 😳 😆
How long is the barrel? I suspect that’s the limiting factor for fps.
just keeping it real Maw
as they come from the box they are not much of a “hunter” if the bit posted on the yellow is representative of the gun
500 to 600 odd FPS range in a .22 is CO2 range
a 3K PCP should be capable of much more which is why I am going to reserve judgement until someone tinkers with one a bit
I think the best way to describe these units is Marauderesque
Newly designed smaller Marauderseque breech
basically a shortened Disco pressure tube assembly
and the new grip frame with the updated lock-work with just from casual observation looks to be a great improvement over things past.
Not slamming the gun but not frothing about it either
I do think the new breech is a fine bit of work but they could have easily retained the 10 shot rifle mag…after all JRW did it on his multi shot QB & Disco breeches. Have one in my hands as we speak and its a fine bit of work too
curious how much adjustability there is
I mean is the valve adjustable like the rifles?
I don’t know
if it isn’t then its going to respond to basic Disco valve work and maybe with an extra power spring and a regulator one might have a real serious winner in this piece
say a mags worth of regulated shots in the mid 700 range or better
but at 500 FPS its really not very interesting
perhaps Crosman is building them to UK spec 😆 😆 😆
just teasing you guys 😉
It will need a complete overhaul, new part remachined and beefier, send it to the experts, the gun is junk the way it is in my mind just a mantel piece.
fellow on the Yellow stated his chrony’d in the 500 FPS range at 3K and as the pressure went down it hit its sweet spot for a high of 660 FPS
this really isn’t very impresive to me but who knows what some mod work will bring
that said I doubt it can be any better than what can be achieved with a Discovery pistol conversion and the shot count with those at higher velocities is rather low
as it stands Chapmans shot count numbers are likely based on a 500 FPS gun which really is little better than a stocker 2240 and hardly the Hunting class pistol it has been extolled to be
at 500 FPS I’ll stick with my FWB C5… 😆 😆 😆
