Q:

Roach Creek…my custom PCP repeater pistol pix

since you seemed curious regarding Jays repeater breeches here are a couple shots of one of my on going projects

the breech is one of Jays QB breeches that use the standard 10 shot Marauder rifle magazine in a special order left hand lay out fitted with a 12″ Lothar Walther barrel over a Moutain Air stainless pressure tube and a Blue Fork grip frame with Hogue grip and a custom band from Jay.

still need to have the tube shortened and threaded for the Mountain Air stainless quick fill and mod the vintage bronze Crosman valve for HPA.

Figure on having about a hundred bucks or more over the new Marauder pistol in it when complete however it should be an improvement over the Crosman product on a variety of levels
besides being the only one of its kind on the planet 😉

and this one has absolutely No Chinese bits, well other than maybe screws 😆
dont know what to call it tho as its not QB and its not Crosman either
looking for a full mags worth of shots in the 800 range but dunno if thats doable on a 3K fill with this tube length
probably going to end up installing a side folder butt on this rig

You had me going for the first few words… 😀

Hope I did that right Joe, it is on the second page just below a Mrod pistol post.

Yeah it was a hard job, that night I caught 9 gang bangers raping a12 year old, I head shot the first 6 then stabbed two with my buck knife breaking the blade off in the second one and was beating the last one to death with my pistol when the grips broke.

Or maybe I broke the grips on the seat belt holder on a chevy nova patrol car instead 😆 .

Charlie, If you can, please send me the link to the AI stock style…I could not locate it. thanks.

Yes you do, that was two months ago for me.

Roachcreek

quote roachcreek:

but my grips broke the first night I used them at work. 😥

Roachcreek

In that line of work I could see how that would be a problem 😡

I’m going to look for that stock thread on the yellow.

p.s. you know you have a problem when you have the flu and a temperature, bones aching, head killing you , but yet you still are typing away on TAG 😯 😆

80,

He posted a picture of several of them he has made in a sort of mass production yesterday, and wanted imput on how customers would like them finished. It looks like they may be poplar wood, or at least very light colored.

He is in the process of trying to get them dipped for a camo finish. Hence the post, to detrmine what folks wanted for finishes. Most that reponded wanted a DIY stock.

I would buy one in a heart beat, but again that is that addiction speaking.

As far as grips go, I suppose my taste in pistol stocks comes from combat issues, I was never a bulleye type of guy, but it is just personal taste. Years ago when coppers packed Mdl 19’s and 66’s, I had a then unknown grip maker by the name of Craig Spegal make me a set of custom Zebra wood, wild styled grips, Craig later became rather well known in that industry.

But my grips broke the first night I used them at work. 😥

I guess beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder. Objectively speaking I think with Ricks “manta rayish” grips form truly followed function. If you shoot a pistol with these on it you will know what I mean. The added wood makes for a perfect ergonomical weld to your hand.

You may like keith’s combat grips. I think B&A sells them. I have a bloodwood pair on a short barrel co2 pistol and they are very comfortable and I think they are good looking.

I had one of Terry x’s stocks and I personally did not like the way it felt. I sold mine.

I like that custom AI stock that the gent on the yellow made. I think it was a “one off”. Too bad…he’d sell a shit loud of those bad boys. I’d want one…you know, just to add to my airgun addiction 😆

80,

I would say I have to agree with you about the Blue Fork Frame as a pistol, but when your making up a AR stocked carbine they are really nice.

I have a hard time with the space age looks of Ricks grips, but then I do not like any of the stocks that are being put on air guns these days, it is like a 12 year old designed them. for a science fiction movie.

I simply prefer the looks of clssics stocks and have paid Airwolf type prices in several times in the past just for classic stocked mauser, sharps and drilling restocked rifles.

I wrote a thread about my tastes in stocks in the Yellow and it was promply deleted, but then look at what the artists at large post for stock design there.

The Mrod and the DAQ rifles are the high water mark of shitty looking and handling stocks IMO.

I would like just a set of plain walnut or Zebra wood grips for my 2240 and a set of grips that dupicate the Ted Williams grips for the Crosman 150. If I ever do pull the trigger on a Mrod 25 it would have to have either the Terrix or whatever they call it or the stock I see being made for the Mrod that looks like the Accuracy international stock design, or a nice piece of walnut in the classic style.

But my biggest problem is the addiction I have for these damn airguns and the kit that goes with them.

Hi, my name is Roachcreek and I am an air gun addict please help me.

Sound a little familiar Joe 😆

Charlie

Yes, I have heard that the QB barrels are superior to the Crosman. So far, I have been lucky with my Crosman barrels. Most of them have been shooters.

I like the looks of that “pistol” in the rifle stock. IMHO I don’t like the blue fork trigger frame as a pistol. I tried mine that way but I did not like the looks of it.

Out of all my pistol set ups (especially the longer tube and barrel 14″) I find that Ricks grips with the “manta ray” flares at the bottom offer the best grip stability. I derive the best stability in one hand shooting with this grip:

When using two hands I slide my left thumb atop the left “manta wing” at the bottom and I get tremendous stability which is a must for the longer barreled pistols![/img]

Don’t see a repeater pistol…

I see a Multi shot Bolt action Pistol…. 🙄

greetingsss..Guido 😛

yes left side bolts are a great deal more convient to operate in both pistol format as well as in thumbhole or vertical pistol grip, {like an AR grip} rifles.

in the rifles it allows one to maintain the strong hand on the grip and maintain the weapon on target while working the bolt with the weak hand. Off a bipod its really quick contrasted to taking ones hand off the grip to work the bolt then replacing it for the next shot

always felt much of the reason for the incorporation of right hand bolts on rifles had a great deal to do with military parade drills as they transitioned from single shots to repeaters

they didnt start correcting this really until WWII
think on the HKs and FALs which side the cocking is done on

Nice!

Maybe I’m being ignorant but wouldn’t it make sense for a right handed shooter of a pistol to have the bolt handle on the left side?

illusion WOK
whenever I crop pix close to the target image this seems to happen

80:
QBs are worth snagging when you see them in the sub $70.00 range shipped
its a bit different game than with the 22XX based guns but there is TONS of info on hotrodding them out there and I frankly think the overal quality of the QBs, particularly the barrels do be greatly superior to current Crosman fare

same goes for early Crosman guns such as the 160

the CaptChur guns can be occasionaly snagged off auction sites pretty cheap, bought some real dogs for well under a C note
the furniture on the CaptChur guns is nice solid American Walnut and is cut in a bit different pattern than the Crosman pellet guns, more of an adult sized and patterned stock. Here is an example. Considering the prices folks pay for even DIY blanks, a finished stock plus all sorts of bits for a hundred bucks give or take is Cheap

Here it is with the pistol action dropped in place:

guess this is why I have a hard time being all in a thrall over new Crosman products
lots of neat things one can canabalize out there to build some very interesting toys

😆 😆 😆

Wok,

What a rude and cras remark to make to older members of the forum,
someday youwill be there too. 😆
