Q:

ATN MK410 Spartan review with NEW PICS!!

Finally got my 410 nv scope

so for quick review .

first off there is plenty of snow on the ground ,and nothing is really pitch black even the sky is dark grey. so this is probably going to have some affect .

first a little larger and heavier than the 390 , but not too bad.

the pros are about 50-75 percent less fish eye than the 390 more of the image is useable .

I dont have to jam my eye in the scope to see .

clarity is good , but the 390 was a little more clear,

(might have to do with snow )

the illuminator works , I can see its on, but does nothing to enhance the image.
(again it might have to do with the lightness of the snow)

(took it in the garage worked fine)

magnification, is minor at best , I compared it to several day scopes(leupold and bushnell) on 3x and Its just not there.2 x power at best not 4x as advertised

was it worth the extra dough?? yes. it had much less fish eye although it seemed not as clear , but that could be due to the snow washing out the pic a little.

This scope is Ok for the money ,it was better than the 390 . its not the best and I certainly wouldnt recomend it unless you pick it up cheap (not like I did 😆 )

It will do what you need but again I was disapointed with the magnification and the clarity was sleightly less than the 390 which was excellent but tiny and a ton of fisheye.

I havent sighted it in so I cant tell you about the tracking yet.

Ill post more when I use it a bit .

Would you be interested in selling it?

I don’t know about the monkey tracks for sure, but I would like an update on how this turned out.

Hoot 😯

Hoot you found monkey tracks??? you sure it wasnt your girl friend next door we have been hearing bout??? 😮

Here some legal advice you can take to the bank…

I never was ruined but twice – once when I lost a lawsuit, and once when I gained one.

I was a mediator once, and dealt with many court ordered meditations for lawsuits under Texas Civil law. In 99% of common lawsuits, both parties lose, and it often takes five to ten years to find that out. The only party who wins in the long run are the attorneys.

Let it go and get on with your life. You would be much better advised to sell the damn thing, and pay the extra for one that works the way you want. Trust me, you’ll save a fortune in the long run, and be a lot happier to boot.

Kindly ‘Ol Uncle Hoot 😯

a percentage of total units sold? Nice! 😛

Ill look into it bit further see if I can get some free legal advise somewhere.

Usually the word lawyer makes people take notice. Even more so when it’s false advertising.

I was thinking it may be a good way to get the right person on the phone at the very least. Shit as a false advertising case it could be worth a percentage of the total units sold… 😯

There is nothing on their site about a different way of measuring magnification. I checked! 😀

I dont have any spare cash to persue them with lawyers, I dont know if they would take it on win only basis.

but I am going to post reviews on the net when I get it back , I already put a few out there.

Im sure those arnt exactly flying off the shelfs as it is , and If I do my part , they will be sitting on quite a few of them by the end of the year.

Hopefully I can deter enough people with reviews , that will cost them some profits next year.

I also asked for thier explanation in writeing so I can show what they are stateing.

😯 Uh, magnification is magnification…

Me thinks it’s time for a crusade. Call a reputable NV manufacturer and see if their 4x is 4x day or night.

It may be time to use the “Could I have the name of your attorney so my attorney has someone to contact for a lawsuit?” Unless it states clearly and in no uncertain terms that they use a non-industry standard on the box it’s misleading advertising, aka a lie.

Unleash the hounds!!! 😈

Planet Optics doesn’t mention anything above and beyond the normal for NV mag…

I’d start calling all the places that carry those scopes and let them know they will have issues with their customers if they continue to carry the product.

Dont sweat it , YN . They know right from wrong.

yeah, post the link if ya can

So the 5x is just marketing B.S – if it doesnt compare to other scope’s of 5x then it isn’t 5x plain and simple.

They aren’t known for their upstanding marketing (using a daytime high res photo;s, changing color to green and posting it next to a gen 1 device is the main complaint against them on other forums) – but this is a new low.

I’m sorry I recommended it to you, All the scope’s of their’s that I have owned have been either the advertised mag or that close I couldn’t notice so I am assuming this is a new thing. I had a Yukon NVRS which was only 2.5x and my 4x ATN definitely had more magnification. Now I know different I can alter my advice accordingly.

There was an ATN tech on the ar15 forum’s who seemed to help people out above and beyond the standard customer service, I will see if I can find his contact info for you.

quote pablouk:

How about you slap him up the side of the head?

Excuse my French.. What a CUNT he is.

Ask if you shove the scope up his ass, does it count if you use a day scope vs a night scope? Maybe he won’t prosecute if you use the night scope?

Chatte????

😆

Ok I finally spoke to thier tech guy. he said that this is the way the scopes are and that they use a differnt set of measurements than day time scopes .

he went on and on about how NV works , I told him thats fine, now why are you not discloseing the fact they are not 5 power in your adds?

he said they are 5 x , I said by whose standards Yours? doe yukon measure them the same way? doea the other companys use this method?

he said he didnt know what the other companys used , so its not an industry standard then is it?

He said I dont know what the other companys do .

I asked if this is used on thier $3000 scopes too he said yes .

I said can I have it in writeing? he said yes.

So, I pretty much got ripped off by a company who makes up thier own standards .

Im ignorant when it comes to NV but I want to ask them if thier $3000 gen 3 scopes use the same scale of measurement .

They insist on talking to me over the phone , But I want what thier saying in writeing.

I could have bought a Yukon scope for half the price with the same magnification as the 410 .

well I dont know what I can do about it. I guess Im going to have to eat it

You know, I feel bad even selling it ,

I guess Ill post reviews all over the net.
