newbie would like help
Hi everyone I have just joined the site and would like to know if anyone can help me with some information on how to remove the valve on the bottle so I can replace it with a high flow type.
I have heard they are difficult but some guys on here have the tools and know how.
If you could help me It would be great.

The brst vavle should stay with the valve, so do not remove it.

Hi one more quick question about the burst valve.
If anyone can help
Does the burst valve have to be removed from the collar before unscrewing the valve from the bottle.
everyone says to make sure all the air is out of the bottle for obvious reasons.
but nothing about the burst valve.
all help appriciated.

The Valve is on order from David stealth so I do not have it yet to compare any thing to
I just want to be prepared for when it does come .
I know it will take the gun over 12 ft lbs it is doing 9.05 as it is, and this is completely useless to me.
I am going to replace the valve with a high flow one and replace the Hammer and spring with something stronger and heavier.
I will probably then think about a longer barrel.
but I do like the short one as it is good for hide work. it all depends on accuracy at the end of the day .
But as I can see there is a massive ammount of information on here for me to trall through.

You need to let all the air out of the tank before taking the vaalve off.
To do that put a small coin or two in our fill adapter and screw it on the bottle, the coin will push the valve back and allow air to release.
Be sure you have the propper permit, this will take you over 12 Ft Lbs.

Take the tank with you to a machine shop to get the right size collar. I would suggest M.M. collar too. His does the job and probably costs less.

Look at the pictures, that is what it looks like when out of the bottle, the only difference is that the top hat and valve stem are not on that valve.
The collar that has the hole in it and the safety relief valve is what you attach either the wrench or the die wrench to. It is a machined part of the valve body.
You do have another valve to put in it, they should be almost identical. The die wrench you purchase should be able to fit around the collar.

If I was going to use a die wrench, I would measure the collar on the valve, then go to a hardware store and measure the dies and the wrench to get a correct fit.

I have seen a few posts recomending using a die wrench and a bolt inserted into the collar does anyone know what size die wrench I could use as I would need to buy one.

Good luck with your valve endeavor.
I know it looks like a daunting task right now, but after you have done it a few times, you will realize how simple it is.
The most difficult part is getting the valve unscrewed the first time, AirForce puts them on with far too much force. So do not be afraid to really reef on that wrench.
