Q:

A must for the Etac

Hello Everyone,

First I have to say what a great product the Etac is. I have 2 of them. One is the 2500 and the other is the 1200 psi.

After shootinig thousands of rounds thru them I have realized that if you put several drops of Silicon Seal Savor into your refill nipple before refilling with HPA it keeps your seals fresh, new and working perfectly.

When I first got my 2500 etac I didnt use the Silicone enough and my seals went bad after about 500 shots. Since that time I use it on every refill and my gun never lets me down. I now have over 2000 shots out of both my etac’s and their still preforming perfectly.

Jim Does GREAT work and you cant go wrong with the Etac Reg 😀 😀 😀

myself I don’t see an issue with an Occasional drop down the nipple
be just a waste to go overboard

I learned alot in the wake of Walt’s educational lashings 😉 Besides, think of it as being “jumped” into a gang…this way we’ll know from the get go if you have what it takes to hang around here 😈

I don’t have the Ereg, so this is only casual observation.

Wouldn’t the oil run into the regulator if you stored the rifle muzzle down?

I’m pretty sure the oil will stay liquid, and not atomize in the bottle so I just see the excess oil sitting in the bottle taking up space.

Might be interesting to take the bottle apart after some fills, and see how much oil runs out.

It would need to be about an inch deep in the tank to reach the reg inlet

the whole idea is flawed.
a reg needs oring grease on the pistons and nothing more

Hey Grafdesgn and all,

Silicone is needed on any of the cast polyurethane o-rings in the regulator on the E-TaCREG. I always add some when I install them, but that will not last forever. Any pure silicone is a benefit.

Adding it to the fill nipple will help keep the backcheck o-ring lubed.

However, I think it is more prudent to lube the o-rings in the reg by applying it directly to the piston o-rings.

Regards,
Jim

Don’t worry Graf this forum is filled with some Douche Bags, a few Know-it-alls, the occasional Tool, and a lot of really nice people.

The o-ring silicone is baically the same stuff I am using. Just under a different name. I got mine from my dive shop. Its a none petroleum product that wont hurt anything.

Graf,

It is a confusion I see on other posts and other posters, sooner or later it will show up in a sale where someone thinks they are getting a reg, actually I have run into it already with a sale and had to clarify the difference.

Don’t let that slow you down in coming up with suggestions.

Relax your doing fine.
