Worlds longest shot?
There is a farmers field out my back door, It’s ranged goes out to about 229 yards from my back deck. I often take pot shots at birds out in the field.
You guys are not gonna believe me but I have gotten a few at extreme distances. No, its not BS…some very long distances, but remember its just blind luck, if you take enough shots..your gonna get lucky sooner or later..and I take a lot of shots..
The new world record is a blackbird at 187 yards..well, at least my record.
2-3 in the 150’s
several in the 130’s
many in the 90’s
My long range shooting is over for now, as the field is overgrown with grass/weeds..hope he plows it soon. I think he only plants it every few years..so I’m done.

The same day I got the pigion double head shot out at
the grain mill I’m pesting. I got another pigion.
I’ve been watching the EDGUN vids on utube.
So The night b4 my pesting. I went over windage varibles
at a hundred yards on chair gun with different amounts of wind at
90dg angle.
The shot 92 yards 170foot up 15 to 20 mph of wind
aimed about 10inches left.
Got it. It had enuff left to glide down to the ground and die.
Not perfect, but in that wind it amazed me.
especially since that was the first time iI used chair gun.
From What I have seen of the AAA TT valve velocities it is about the same. With my Condor and 22 24″ barrel my chrony results are: below.
With the .25 barrel they are in the mid 80s with the 43 gr EJs. Ten powerful shots and then maybe 10 more medium power on a fill. I really got it for the .308/9 mm LW barrels coming for coyote. Inital results with an EJ 78 gr and 9mm was about 150 fpe using the extreme valve. I also want to get a 25 cal barrel and try Jerry’s slugs which should put it in the 110-120 fpe range.

Now – on Stubby w/ Extreme the results with the 12″ .25 cal barrel are as follows. EJ 43 goes about 57 fpe. This is similar to the TT Shorty but has the Maddog stock included for $856 at R&L Airgun Supply.

I should have switched to the extreme valve but I didn’t know the trajectory for it at that range exactly and didn’thave much time.

Stubby distance update:
Stubby is still new but he took a squirrel at 87 yards with a .25 Predator today and I am really impressed. I had no idea Predators would stay stabile at such a distance and out of a 12″ barrel.
I spotted him on the road up the hill in my subdivision (a somewhat rural subdivision in hills) from the garage. I went and got Stubby, my rangefinder, and the tin of .25 Predators. He was nearly in the center of the road when I shot and I hit him mid body.
I used the roof of my Honda as the rest. With a 50 yard sight in the pellet is 12″ low at 87 yards. With my Hawke Sidewinder the Hawke reticle software had that range at between 2.75 mil dots holdover. It was a really lucky hit and I had missed several already in the last week. He danced off of the road b4 he succumbed in the ditch.
With the hi-flo valve the Predators are leaving at 760 fps / 33 fpe and would still have about 16 fpe at 90 yards with the .25 Predators mediocre BC (I have it estimated at .030 for the .25s) but plenty of power. I should have switched to the extreme valve but I didn’t know the trajectory for it at that range exactly and didn’thave much time.
😆 😆 Yes i know about the convertible , i have shot them between the eyes with my .222 Rem , it’s impressive to say the least.
My best shot with an air rifle was around 50-75 yards on a running jack rabbit with a benji pump and a steel dart. With a powder burner would be a running yote at around 100 yards, entered behind the left ear and turned his head into a convertible.

My best, so far, was 103 on a piegon. I have the vid here some where.
I am working on getting a 100+ yard head shot on a 13 banded ground squirrel. These guys only stand about 5″ tall and you could cover most of their head with a quarter. So far, my best is 84.5 yards.
My longest shot placed at anything with an air rifle was a raven, head shot at a 86 yards with a bone stock condor. The big bird was taken down with a JSB Monster.
Hope to improve on that soon.

right around 94 to 100 yards for me, have several at this distance. I have a sparrow at right at 50 yards off hand, i was like (dam) , head shot!!
Feral cat at 75 yards with two of my buddies saying at the same time i pulled the trigger , ( you cant do anything at that distance) Shot was cat walking from right to left , i aimed at the bridge of his nose, my setup should have been about re zeroed at this distance and squeezed the trigger , shot placement was right behind the left ear and forward, cat dropped like a brick.
The look on there faces was priceless. 🙂
I knew i could hit the cat , but i really figured he would run with the shot , not drop like that, but i didn’t let on. 😀
Longest measured shot is a ground squirrel at 107 yards.
But I shot a pigeon at about 150 yards. I dont really count it though cuz the pellet hit about 4′ in front of it and bounced up and punched it in the chest. :p
Condor 22 – I hit blackbird out of a tree at 120 yards after two misses with Kodiaks. I hit a sparrow with Stubby w/ the hi-flo valve at 78 yards and Cuda’s.
I shot a Prairie dog on the Rosebud Indian reservation in SD at almost 800 yards with a Rem 700 Heavy barrel 243 and Leupold 6.5-20 Var-III (my farthest shot on anything alive ever other than paper).
Talon SS…25cal 18″ barrel from TT, also TT tuned high flow valve. Have gun set to the lowet power settings I can get. Shooting 27.8g benji domed around 950fps for low 50’s fp.
Today..I missed a crow at about 55 yards..then hit a blackbird at the 80-90 range…figures..

Nothing has increased my knowledge of airgun ballistics as the free Hawke software. What a winner.
You can tell I like Hawke scopes (especially the Sidewinder Tacticals) from my airgun signature. The etched glass 20x 1/2 mil dot reticle is a work of art for the $360 I paid at Pyramyd for each one of them. Ted in Madison is also has the same scope on his Edgun.
