experiences – comparison of Edgun and Condor / SSS
Hi there,
I’m searching for a accurate and powerful PCP since a long time (small bore).
Came again along the Airforce Condor (Gunpower SSS) AND new one, the Edgun Matador.
What will be the better choice?
I konw, that there are a lot of possibilities for tunes on the Condor / SSS. Is there any comparabel option for the Edguns?
What about quality and accuracy of both?
Thanks

Ed, what if you lower the requlator pressure but increse the tension of the valve spring to close faster, say 110-120Bar !?
Thank you!
I’ll experiment today or tomorrow with THE speeds..
It was nice now, 50m zeroed, 100m are 3 mildots 🙂
I do not doubt you 🙂
Then this is even more impressive for me..
Question:
Why is the reg adjusted at 130 bar? Why not at 110?
The more pressure you have in front of the valve, the less air consumption you have and less noise from the shooting. The best thing would be to have it about 160-170 bar, but in this case you will have problems with filling it, too often will have to go to fill the tank. I can adjust it even at 10 bar 🙂 but you will not like it. 130 bar I found by experiments with my guns as the best and optimal pressure.
Yes i know you’re sure 🙂

this is a complete “shock” for me 🙂
It was sold as standard version to me!!
Are you sure (duhhhhh) and how can you see this??
Yes, I am sure 🙂

Very nice pics Kazzz……… 😀
kazzz, you are talking about “standard” version of Matador and the same index is on your hrono string, but on the picture you have the short one. Besides I recommend the speed, optimal, for the short one no more then 275 m/sec with 16 grain JSB pellets or 260 m/sec with 18 grain JSB heavy pellets. You have 300 m/sec with 16 grain JSB pellets, that is too much for the short one. If you reduce the speed down to 275 m/sec you will have at least 50 shots at one string and much less shooting noise.
Kazzz,
you can max it a lot more if you increase the req. power & also get a lot more shots if lower it etc..
try playing around with the req. & that spring, there is a post by me somewhere on how to tweak the requlator without opening the rifle fully. All you need to do is remove the front cap.
Extra nice job!!! Great detail.
Hoot 😀
Here you go:

Remove this screw to get the action out of the stock:

Yes it is a long screw 🙂

These 2 screws are important:

The little one you see there is important. It keeps the big one at its place:

So first screw out the little one, then the big one: IN = more power OUT = less power

It might help some newer Matador owners if you had a picture of the adjustment screw involved. I know Ed has a video, but some people understand a picture much easier.
Just a thought.

Comming up some pics in max 30 min’s..
Then bedtime.. Work tomorrow (10.35pm here)
Now that is a very neat posting.

Yes, it can work, but while making hundreds of guns I need to be sure that we have all tuned correctly and if some guns can work with lower pressure I will make it higher just to be sure that will work properly. The rest called “tuning” which I am not in 🙂
