Q:

My new to me Steroided 392!!

Well this is my new to me Steroid 392 with Williams Peep. Very nice gun. Clean, nice wood, ACCURATE and when pumped to 13 this thing really thumps the target!!!
I shot these groups at 18 yards off hand. I dont have a battery in my chrony now but will do some Strings sometime this week
All I have to say is Tim does GREAT work, And all the woodchucks, starlings and Squirrels better watch out now!!!
Enjoy!!!
sorry pics are with my cell and not great

SS – the crosman 64 peep site seems like it was made for that gun. Works well in a ghost ring fashion too! Went out Saturday for some plinking and was knocking out bottle caps at 20 yards all day. Shotgun shells at 30 and water bottles at 40yards. Longest kill with her was a squirrel at 40 yards or so. Good ol fun!

lm – I find the peep is just right for my cheek weld!!!! I can see a red dot working on this though.

benneeb0y: I have the peep sight on mine, and 50 yard kills are pretty routine with it, though the shooting position is not very ergonomic. The cheek rest is too high and the peep is too low for me. I’ve put on a cheap tasco red dot on it and now my neck is much happier. 🙂

Well MAC1 can cut some dove tail groves on it or you can get the intermount from PA. I really only use the gun for plinking and tree’n squirrels so the peep sight works well. But a scope would make it a monster. It’s silly consistent!!!

Good to know… if the peep is nails accurate to 15 yards then its a perfect squirrel gun. I really like the peep on the 46M… I love the simplicity and reliability.

I had to put a red-dot on a Ruger3 .22 to get decent accuracy with my eyes. How easy is it to mount a weaver rail on that gun?

50 yards should be doable with the peep sight if your eyes are up to it lol!

All I know is that at 6 pumps, crow magnums will annihilate pigeons at 50 yards 🙂

i am going to do a full chrono this week
I will do 5-8-14 pumps with each pellet
and also do 50 yard groups with it
see if i need to do an intermount and scope or if the peep is enough for my wants

Sounds excellent.. shoot straight this info will help me decide on a buy or not..

I get 650fps with 8 pumps shooting 18.1gr JSB’s.

How loud with 8 pumps? that’s 17fpe – plenty for small pests.

Pretty loud. 8 pumps is engrained from the stock gun so I went there. Plus quicker follow up. Anything over 5 pumps is loud from my testing.

23 fpe at 868fps with cp’s !!! Yikes.

i am getting 868 with 14.3 CP’s also

Wow, that’s awesome.. can you pump fast 14 times? I plan on getting one of these.. I love pumpers! Rifle + 11mm rail option.. hmm you think that the williams sight can be used in harmony with his scope mount mod?
