Q:

My Harbor Freight compressor quit working

I bought that little compressor in October or November.

I did not get the extended warrantee on it, it seems I should have.

It runs, but does not pump up, sounds like it has no load on the motor, I don’t hear air escaping, there is air flow coming from around the motor area, but I assume it does that when working properly also.

I have a HArbor Freight add for another one for $49.99 and then a coupon for 20% off that price.

I am thinking on getting one a little bigger, the one in question said it was a 100 PSI model, but I never got more than 90 PSI out of it, a 125PSI that I could turn down to 95 PSI or so seems to me to be a better option. I don’t know that I want to go for a bigger than 3 gallon tank but if I want it to run longer between starts perhaps I need to.

I thought I would get on here before you fuckers steal my compressor thread. 😆

I checked both the Sears listed here and the Harbor Freight 6 gal 2 HP 150 PSI.

I opted for the bigger tank and went with the HF and a 2 year warrantee.

It runs the SHoebox for 11 to 12 minutes, then comes on for 30 to 45 seconds. I have it set right on 100 PSI.

Sorry Roach, think has already been ripped, anyhow, let us know how the big boy works out
And by the way, your quoted reply made me choke a perfectly cold beer all over the place 😛

Computer wise I have running at this moment

Dell Desk Top
HP Desk Top
Toshiba Lap Top
Gateway Laptop
Mac Book

And yes the $2000 Mac Book has been to the genius bar 2x to have hardware repaired.

Just go to the Apple Store and look at the line to get products fixed. They are so busy you have to make an appointment and wait a week or two. They make a good product but is still metal and plastic and shit breaks.

Since getting rid of McAfee and switching to Microsoft Security Essentials (Free) all the PC run much better and once in a while a spyware or trojan sneaks past MalWare Bytes (Free) will dig it out and fix it. My PC’s have been far more trouble free since running those 2.

Just buy the best you can afford. Not everybody has the income to buy what others deem worthy.

Among a few other service certifications I have is one for Dell Warranty repair work……

That being known to you all now.
My next PC……

will be an HP…..

Or local built… I just don’t have the time to do all the research into getting the right piece parts myself… (Motherboard type, chipsets, processor rev levels, video type… I will just walk in, tell them how much I have to spend and see what I can get. I can get all the software I need for a pittance… (but only for myself, can’t resell or transfer it. 😥 😥 .).
When it comes to the hardware, pre-built & setup systems, etc., I can get better deals at either Micro Center, or even Staples on a good sale compared to what I get for a discount from Dell, HP or IBM through work!!!! 😆 😮 😆

As far as the computer thing, had a Dell and it was nothing but hell
Support was nothing more than trying to understand the guy from India
Never called Apple for nada, no reason
anyway, that’s why I made a comment on this thread
it was to save some frustration for some folks here, that’s all
And yes, China, slave labor and all that, well just a fact of life
that’s why everything is made there
More $$$$ for the corporate king pins
Can ya blame them?
We are headed to a bad place here, the way things are
Shit, I cannot type anymore, I am starting to feel like RC,Riv

I agree its nice you guys care so much to donate for people to buy better stuff. Very nice of you guys. I am sure you can send them $$$ by paypal

Because if you don’t pay for other people tools then complain about what they have is kinda douchey 😀

And we know how much SAWTIME hates the taste of vinegar on his lips… 😀

I’m just trying to give a bit of knowledge from my experience
If your gonna invest in tools, save up if you have to
Just don’t waste your time and money on something that is gonna self destruct sooner than later
WOK
I own more tools than GOD
why, cause, the tools I bought with proper care are gonna last
We all know that, just trying to give a bit of insight of my personal experience, that’s all

Thats true especially if you live in the sticks.

Your gas isn’t nor the electricity from the extra run time! :thumb:

Not if you do it on your FREE TIME 😀

Believe me, HF is cost effective ,
I just hate having to purchase the same thing more than once
If you were to add up your time taking a broken product back under warranty , You’re better off doing it right the first time
Time = $$$$$
Just my thoughts, I could give a rats ass what you guys do

SAW

I totally agree that the HF is the best way to get up and running for as little money as possible. I’m all about saving money!! That means more toys for me!! 😀

The difference is that you can spend 2X the money and get a compressor that kicks on a 1/4 as much.

If it’s in your shop then that may not mean anything to you and puts more money in your pocket.

If it’s in the house, then it may be something to consider.
