Q:

Top mounted bipod

I have seen some pictures where bipod are mounted on the Condor or Talon top rail. Do you need an adapter or a wide stance bipod to get the spread over the frame ?

I ground the screw heads down and put electricians tape on them, works but the AF Bipod, like most of their accesories, is such a piece of shit, that I have not mounted it for years.

RC

tried that to.
i stil prefer top mouted upsidedown backward eg
it won’t get stuck in the bush so fast
it is not in the way when shooting offhand, or add mutch weight to the front.
and it makes the gun want to level itself in position

Give it up :13:

The bottom frame mounted Harris bipod on my TT .25 AAA Condor is so much better.
Give up that toy and move on 😉

are there any other bipods that can be top mounted, or adapted to do so.
my airforce bibod is broken 😥
would like a more soldid bipod that can be mounted in the same practical way

huckelberry,
Any flat washer would probably work. Take the two pieces apart and put a washer between that will snug up the swivel action.

ahh now i understand what you mean
but i prefer mine fexible for uneven grounds

Very nice setup. I can make mine work now.

Have you tried a fiber washer in the bipod swivel? I think it firms it up a bit.????????????

can you explain and/or post a picture?

I had to trim some off the inside of the pivot screw heads, then tape them with electrc tape to keep them from scratching the frame.

It works, it makes a piece of shit bipod more stable, but I have to tell you, your wasting time and money to buy that bipod.

Get a Harris or Caldwell, a $10.00 adapter and drill and tap it for a detachable swivel stud and don’t look back, or at least don’t look at your rifle laying on it’s side on the ground after the POS AF bipod collaspes.

Good job huckelberry 💡

Next time I need the bi-pod I’ll try it your way.
What with a scope and 2 tri-rails I thought I had an artillery piece.

Looks good. For close ups, maybe your camera has a small flower icon which allows focussing at less than 24 inches.

Thanks.
