I just had SHoebox upgrade my compressor
I opted for the belt drive, finned cylinders, hardened steel pistons and a experimental curly que air lines.
Total cost was $182. and change which included me sending it to them minus the motor.
Tom is so easy to deal with, and replaced a lot of things for free.
The single best investment in air gunning I have made.
And unlike Crosman mouth pieces, I recieved no canned hunts for this endorsement, just great honest service. 😛

dont buy an expired tank. no one will fill it for you.
And it will eventually fail you and you will not have a source for air.
I have been there 3 times in 4 months when I was just geting started.
Unfortunately with the exception of the base rifle, every other thing Airforce sells is junk. ie., scopes, mounts (well BKL is good), bipods, pumps. 💡
THat is chinese Junk, like the chinese Junk, ancient sailing ship, they shipped it over here in.

I need to get a direct gauge/fill line from Joe B. for filling my Drozd since it wants 4500 psi in the HPA tanks from the Shoebox. They are regulated to 1400 psi output. The Drozd does 1200 rounds per minute at nearly 900 fps for BBs.

It is the single most important investment Ihave made towards PCP air rilfes.
Without it I could not shoot my Ranger 45 at all because the fill pressure on it is 4300 PSI, and with the Af rifles and my Royale it allows me to shoot all I want.
You going to be into the thing around 800 to a thousand dollars unless you already have a oiless shop compresor and a scba tank and fill whip.
The Shoebox costs $550.00, a Harbor Freight compressor will run $50.00 for a small one, but your better off with the 6 gallon one for a little over $100.00. You can buy a used or expired SCBA tank for around $200.00 and you will need a fill whip which will run around $150.00.
Once there it is free air. If you have a shop near by to fill your tanks you do not need one, but if your out in the ocuntry like me they are wonderful.

how well does the shoebox compressor work
Thanks. Not bad for $68 and I like the way he mounted it. For me that makes the belt drive viable noise wise. I can move the Procter Cable compressor to the basement below. Tom may want to consider the pressure switch as on option. (Then I can send the whole thing to him)

The electronic pressure pressure switch available at McMaster-Carr sounds like a decent upgrade. Do you have a link to that? Is Tom upgrading them too? Thanks
The curly que lines are replacements for the ones that screw into the cylinders on the check valve end. None have been made up to Tom specs yet so they are not yet a reality. The idea is that is would help in cooling the air
There have been some who by pass the shut off switch with a electronic pressure pressure switch available at McMaster-Carr, they are more precise also.
You can also take that 25 foot airline between the shop compressor and the shoebox and run it thru a bucket of water, it is said to help condense the water vaper so it does not get to the SHoebox.
I thru a $50.00 McMaster Carr filter into the mix to help with my moisture problem.

I love my Shoebox but the booster compressor is so loud when it comes on that I have given up on trying to quiet the Shoebox down. It also overpowers the wife’s messages at convenient times. As far as the Shoebox, though, The off switch being tapped is the loudest component when the booster isnt running.
I am using a coiled 25′ air line for cooling and have the Shoebox above the booster compressor to minimize moisture and return it to the booster tank as much as possible as the air cools and the water condenses.
What are the curly que lines or are they the same thing?
I have a firehouse that fills my SCBA tanks real close by – now as a backup but they always kept me talking when I went down there for at least an hour.
About the plastic bolt. I posted on the SB forum and Tom has already replied. On a Sunday I got an answer ………..Damn that’s service.
She does have great sense humor, We’ve had our ups and downs while I was in the service, but We made it. I tell everyone that she’s the best wife I could have.
My ShoeBox Just broke. It’s the bolt that holds the spring tension plate, It’s made out of plastic . So off to the store in hopes of finding a replacement or 2.

My 2007 SCBA tanks in good shape were $200 each last year. Good till 2022.
I see Joe wants $139 for the gauge/whip to fill a gun directly or HPA tank with foster fitting.
The Shoebox works well.
