Q:

Opinions please for making a Condor a Coyote killer

Okay I know the debate of no replacement for displacement regarding using a powder burner but a fellow Condor owner has a .25 Condor sporting a 858cc custom tank (thanks Walter) but my buddy wants to deal with his Coyote problem with his Condor.

So he asked about converting his Condor to a 9mm or .308 but my question is if he modded his valve/bottle to shoot Jerry’s slugs or 43 grain Eun Jins would it be effective out to 75 yards?

Opinions please.

I run a 4500 psi 68 ci tank with a 3000 psi jds airman regulator on my .25 condor. I’m shooting Benji 27.8g @ 970, Eun Jin 35.8 @ 892, Eun Jin 43.2 @ 860.

I think I’m ready to buy a new valve and start working my way to some bigger numbers.

What are your thoughts on the regulator? how is your SD and ES? I was thinking about getting one for my .25 for shooting the Kings and then having a separate tank and valve for the slugs….

I really need to get some free time to sit down and actually shoot targets and measure speeds. As soon as I figure it all out I will let you know.

You might get a few more fps but that’s pretty much all your going to get. There isn’t enough volume in the Etac to support it. That why I built mine with the collar for a larger chamber.

Question for the modified Condor guys:

With a .25, can a regulator setup be used if the slug is over 50gr.? Or, does the reg. not permit enough air/pressure to drive heavy ammo accurately?

Yes the Chrony was showing a incorrect reading, the velocity from 3400 to 3200 is in fact 1030/132 FPE.

Sighted in at 100 yards it is shooting 16 inches low at 150.

One good thing is that on 7 power with the 2×7, the lower duplex is the aiming point at 150 with a 100 yard zero.

1040 was the highest I got with the choked barrel Doug. I also added that bushing/Power wheel replacement which gives a different tension on the .82 spring. Before I used the power wheel and a shortened ,82 spring.

This is a different gun than the carbine I have been shooting.

But yes I am doubting my chrony. I think I will go zero at 100 yards and then shoot at 150yards and see the drop difference and check it against Handloads.com

So who knows. Thats why I added the “if my chrony is correct.

This is what I would use for a coyote air rifle. I can consistantly hit coyote sized kill zones at 150 yards with this rifle even with a 100 yard zero with a 2×7 Burris scope.

I shot these groups at 40 yards with 56 grain LBT bullets 30 minutes ago.

I at first doubted the 1185 FPE velocity, but then I was filling at PSI levels that only the North Koreans would attempt :lol:. The hotter the flew the tighter the groups got.

So I filled to a lower level, 3200 PSI between shots for the lower group. IF the Chrony is right this would represent my highest velocity ever.

And the chrony is not right. The lower figures are correct, the ones in the top group are a chrony error.

I went and zeroed at 100 yards and then checked the drop at 150 yards twice, the drop was 16 inches which is what Handloads.com says it should be for 1030 FPS

Corrected velocities are about 15 FPS higher as the chrony was 12 feet away.
