Moneyshots New Valve
I didn’t want to see him have a meltdown and sell his gun out of frustation so I decided to modify his stock condor valve to fit the larger parts I use in my valves. I had to plug the burst disc and removal tool hole because they were drilled to deep. I will drill a shallower hole for the tool. I desided to do this because I need more than a condor valve in my reg setup for slugs. So I started on mine and will copy it for Moneyshot. Will make the stem and seal tomorrow.

At that power, every shot string will be short. A larger tank will change things a bit as there will be less net pressure loss with any given shot so that might flatten things out some.

No that is my complete valve in a 62 ci tank.
I took my gun apart Saturday night because I had some breech o ring issue that had been giving me a problem for a while. Then I guess I tightened the knob a little to tight and it made the breech tighten on the barrel.
So I ran a ream through it by hand to clean it up and also ran the tool in the o ring grove by hand to clean it out a little. Put new o rings in and now the breech slides real nice. I will make another one because the o ring fit on the tophat is now not as tight as I like but that’s just me.
I was going backwards with your valve. So I put it back together and the numbers went back up and even higher than I had got before.
So yesterday I decided to try the tank with the whole valve and that’s where those numbers come from.
The gun is so loud making that power. I’m making a shroud like my .308 for it when I have time. My shroud is quiet but it tries to push it off the gun so I only use it with the reg setup.
that short string looks a bit flatter now, is that still with the logun tank?

I shot my .25 with the complete valve that started all this. Some slugs fit tighter then other.

I have a new setup for my valve that shoud take me over 1000 fps. If I can open it up as much as possible I should get at least 1025 fps. If not the tank dump demond will strike and I will get my first rea .25 tank dump.
i think AF initially designed them to dump, but they were originally designing a jet pack… 😆

I’m not using your tank because I do all my testing in the smallest tank possible so when I have to pull the valve I waste as little as possible. I tested all the .308 stuff in the same tank. I have a stock condor tank also, but smaller tank makes for a lot smaller tank dump. 😀

truthfully, i think that this configuration is a bit too close to the holy grail of efficiency potential/ power potential for me to go lookin a gift horse in the mouth, er, tank…
ill spend a bit of time finessing the spring weight/preload, and im sure nothing in western PA will be safe… 😈
