AA S4XX/5XX Air Cylinder Removel…
Has anyone successfully removed one of these, short of using a hacksaw?
I’d appreciate any advice. This thing is on tighter than the shroud was.

I am constantly amazed at at people’s lack of understanding of just how much greenhouse gases are being emitted from the earth through geologic processes. One days release of these gases from the earth dwarfs anything man can produce. Much of these gases are being released in places where the mainstream media isn’t like the ocean floor, siberia, volcanoes, etc..
Uncle Hoot, what is happening with your S510 air tube? Have you contacted AirArms and inquired why it is so difficult it?
Two inches of rain, at least, is a start in the right direction. Unfortunately, the planet’s warming trend is going up faster than predicted, probably due to the massive addition of China and India coal-fired plants.
I worked at Monticello for eight years, managing a project for them. It gave me a chance to check out Jefferson’s weather records for this area. He kept meticulous records every day. Either he or his trusted brother wrote down a lot of detail. A tradition that modern employees at Monticello keep today. Anyways, he never recorded more than about six days over 95 degrees F in a given YEAR, during his lifetime. Shit, we get more than that in one week now. I’m harvesting figs for the first time in 30 years. Usually, they freeze to the ground.
Since the passing of our last Husky, we’ve decided against getting another dog. I’m looking for a pet better suited to our “new” climate, something that doesn’t shed or suffer in the heat, a dinosaur.
Anyone know where I can get a smaller dinosaur? It doesn’t need to be house trained, because we’ll keep it outside. If it feeds on the occasional wandering hunting dog, that’s OK. But, no eating of humans, for legal reasons. If it could be ridden to work, even better.
Issac fizzled! Perhaps 2″ of rain.
However, after Issac, we got two really good rains and the lake is up 1.5 feet. It was down 3 feet. So I can’t complain.
It’s going to be 100 degrees again. Zap! I thought we were done with that crap.

Did you get anymore rain Uncle Hoot?
I was expecting a good rainfall. All we are getting is a couple of inches. For crying out loud….four months of drought and we can’t get more than a couple of inches of rain from a friggin’ hurricane.

What’s up with the rain, er storm?
I gave up. Jim Gaska is going to put a QD filler on it, an air gauge, and engrave an American Eagle with its wings outspread, a dead snake in its talons, and bright yellow flames shooting out it’s ass!
He said that would cover most of the Mig Torch damages to the air cylinder. He tried to bend it back into alignment, but stress cracks began to appear, so I told him to stop. I supposed I’ll just not fill it all the way to 3200 psi, like I have been. I’ll hold it at 200 BAR and that should do.
Shoot…he even wanted to toss it out in the garbage, but I told him
I found some camouflage duct tape, and plan to wrap it around the air cylinder for added safety. I think Jim was really impressed! I heard him call out the name of the Lord, and then he hung up.
He did manage to pry the breech open again. Seems those OEM O-rings aren’t heat resistant. Oh well…
Locally, here in Toad Suck, frogs/toads are all the same to us. At least they taste the same. We don’t smash them like they do in Texas. We cut off their legs and fry them up. The rest of the toad is released and a lot of times they heal right up. Kinda sad to see the little bastards dragging themselves around with their front legs, but hey…either you like fried toad legs or you don’t!
The Toad Suck Baptist Church held a “dance” last night to raise funds to put in a hard road out to the highway. It wasn’t really a dance…most people just stood around and had sex standing up so it wouldn’t be a sin.

Expect to get up to five inches of rain tonight and tomorrow as Issac rolls over Arkansas.
Toad Suck Chamber of Commerce reminded everyone to put their “De-froggers” on so they won’t take out the local Toads during heavy rains.

We can all vouch that Hoot has never told an untruth or exaggerated here on the forum.
He may have WRITTEN tall tales, but never told (as spoken) them.
Wish we could send some of our rain your way; all kinds of stuff getting moldy, diseased and rotting from too much rain and humidity. Mid day, at 95, in full sun and the grass is still wet from the night’s dew.
Been collecting lots of mushrooms, chanterelles, porcini, hen of the woods and some weird brown mushroom that grows on old cow pies and turns blue when you bruise it. Doesn’t taste all that grft@ 87jfjs….gnrht472@@@……flobitydrevlkorksmif..%9e

So, if you actually did heat that tube to white heat, then it’s trash as the tempering changed for the worse. …or did I miss something?
Are you going to cut it off with grinding wheel and a cold chisel? What do you think all that heat did to the piece that the air tube screws to? Things that make you go Hmm. Let us know how it goes Uncle Hoot.
Does anyone else have a new S510 who has had the same problems trying to remove the air tube?

I will receive it and let it sit while I ponder on what to do.
I’ve got some parts ordered from Jim Gaska for my .25 Mrod. If the LeftyMadrid.com bullpup kit becomes a reality, then I will make it my “go to” pcp .25, for slaughtering the wild beasts that roam my yard.
I’m a lot more concerned about Israel, North Korea, and Iran, than I am the climate. Israel is in a bad spot. They are facing guaranteed nuclear annihilation, and soon! I doubt they will wait much longer.
Bad things are going to come out of that, and the world seems unable to comprehend what’s coming.
Oh well…they’ve got their problems and my air cylinder is stuck. The world is a hard place!
