Q:

Gun upgrades and in need of some ideas

I have a airforce condor .25 with a 24″ barrel used for varmint elimination and some hunting (despite my location I get woodchucks and regular raccoons and sewer coons for those of you who haven’t had the pleasure of meeting up with a sewer coon imagine a raccoon that is all black and will attack anything that crosses it’s path, and opossums) so with that I was in need of something strong that I knew would do it’s job at long distances and short as well as powerful because even the woodchuck brushed off the .22 round from my Benjamin Trail.

OK, so far I have only done a few things to my my gun:
1. UTG 3-9×50 AO Rifle Scope, Illuminated Mil-Dot Reticle, 1/4 MOA, 1 inch Tube, 3/8 inch High Rings

2. AirForce Bipod for Talon and Condor

3. TalonTunes Tank Adapter (should have gotten one sooner. No more counting/guessing and it really just add to the overall look of the gun, also unlike the
spin-loc from Airforce this can be unscrewed making the gun fit in a smaller case the spin-loc needs to stay on. P.S. for those of you who order one on the collar where you screw in the valve there is a little grub screw on the bottom loosen that up and you can adjust the adapter to be centered)

4. Slanted Original WokGard 15 (coming soon just ordered yesterday had to get it while it was on sale )

5. Shroud from RL Airgun supply (not pictured as it’s been sent back to be repaired cannot wait to get it back gun is just too loud in the city lol)

Now I need to decide what’s up next, as I said I have some crazy critters that venture into my neighborhood so what I am wondering is
should I get an upgrade to my top hat valve? If so should I upgrade my hammer as well?

What does everyone else think?

More photos to follow as I upgrade

Yeah I appreciate all the work folks have done over the years in their shops, basements and garages to improve this gun. It is a great air rifle.

So glad you like it. Part of the fun is watching so many guys getting their guns the way they want. That really is a big part of the stuff I developed for them over the years.

Awesome that will be my next add-on

I purchased a new Wokbutt it came days ago but I couldn’t put it on. The AirForce butt screw wouldn’t budge and I kinds stripped it 😥 I got my uncle welding a nut head on it with his tig. That should free it and soon the Wok with be on. It’s a real nice quality Mod can’t wait to shoot with it on.

Just installed the trigger guard from WalkonKing, it was so easy just a couple of pieces of tape, a couple Allen wrenches, and a Phillips screwdriver ( as I don’t have a long enough Allen wrench had to take the AirForce grip apart) and in about ten minutes it was in.

Now I just need to wait for the new Hogue grip to come in the mail and I’ll get that installed

If you do any night shooting this works well [ Hammerli 850 AirMagnum 11mm-to-Weaver Scope Rail ] will mount to the front underside rail then you can attach a light. 😀

The other thing I’m thinking about doing is putting on the AR 15 quad rail but I need to wait for my shroud to come back from RL airguns to see what will work

How very true that is that’s why I’m going to work with what I’ve got because modding is expensive and I need to work on the easier things first as well as get to know my gun (whom I’ve named Belladonna) once I’ve become better acquainted with her then I can decide if she needs anymore up grades or if she is beautiful on her own

Most of the time pcp owners mod there pcp rifles for more speed only to find out the gun shoots the best at slower speeds under 1000 fps . As Oakey stated he has a modded condor but finds out shooting around 910 fps with insane accuracy ! Keep in mind the stock condor will shoot well over that speed at low power setting .

rld1965 is correct again. I would have changed very little if I lived in an area where I have few neighbors. 80 foot pounds in a stock condor is plenty with no upgrade for my needs. So happens I don’t need the power just the quiet but it is cool to say my Condor shoots over 100 ftpe with EunJins. Outside that I have a reducer in the one piece TT Top hat shootin 25gr JSB PELLETS AT 910 FPS with insane accuracy. This makes me happy.

Oakey does have his tuned very nicely but that is for his needs . Probably if he lived where neighbors re not an issue I am sure he would of been satisfied with the gun and the power . I guess everyone has different needs in a gun . For me my stock condor SS .25 cal is just perfect . Air gunning is about personal needs . Actually any shooting can be that way .

You both definitely make some valid points. I think my next course of action should be to review the aesthetics of the gun like a shoulder stock, trigger boot, and a super sear for a better two stage trigger pull then if needed change out other parts

Thanks guys that helped me to decide 😀

rld1965 is correct these mods cost good money. They push the price of your airgun up significantly so if that is a concern do not buy them they are expensive especially from Talon Tunes. But then again the owner of Talon Tunes is known for what he does and what he does works and works well. You can not compare an R&L shroud to a Talon Tunes Shroud they are in two totally different leagues. I am being honest that’s all. But if you can’t shoot in your back yard because your gun is too loud then what is your Condor worth too you? To me I have had to spend the money because I live in Suburbia. At this point my back stop makes far more noise then my gun shooting at the highest of powers.

Oakey

You can do those mods to gain the extra 10 ft lbs but is that 10 ft lbs worth 400.00 plus dollars ? To me its no . if i need to shoot bigger game then you use a rim fire or centerfire rifle ! Like I said before your condor will kill the same game as the modded condors . Unless you are having issues and need to do the mods then i would look into certain mods to correct it . Your stock condor can take a deer down but I would not try it because in ct you can’t shoot them with airguns ! If you put a TT shroud on it adds another 9″ to the end of your stock 24″ barrel . Then your barrel alone will be 33″ long not counting the rest of your gun . Plus it costs like 250.00 plus shipping . Good luck with your choices I am sure you will make the right choice knowing what you need in a gun
