IZH 46M Match Air Pistol
I have been slowly researching the pistol market for a Cicadae hunter (they’re coming next year) and have it down to a few choices. First is the Edgun Veles but I need it in .22 caliber. Maybe 30 shot. Top notch match pistol.
So they discontinued the Veles for a while because of high manufacturing costs. Are they back?
The second is the single pump IZH-Baikai 46M Match. Its nice because there is no power source to carry around and fill. One pump does it but not match the power of the Veles and is only .177 but is about half price.

Buy or borrow a dremel and sand the grip down to your hand.
The 46M is an amazing gun.
So far my best groups are 1/4″ at 20 yards on a basement range from a solid rest and 4 pumps. I have a feeling I can top that at greater distances with the additional power and a true scope instead of the reflex which is more of a pest site. This thing has tons of power with the pump. 😯
Now I am looking for a pinch the foam out pistol case that will fit the gun precisely.
Well in two days of ownership I just dont know. I will test it out though. I have been told it is just as accurate at a given power.
What kind of accuarcy are you getting from the pump up? At 10 meters my stock Izzy shoots better than I can. Does yours produce one hole 10 shot groups at 10 meters?
Yes, I still have the two original breech seals in mine there about 10 years old.
Thank you. I actually read that tip or saw it in a video somewhere although someone told me in three years they are still using the original oring and always forget to open the breech. They gave me a spare too so I should be set for a long while If I leave it open.
The mod is absolutely excellent. This is a 30+ yard squirrel and rabbit gun at 5 pumps. 2 pumps is basically the stock gun which I think is too weak for small game at all other than birds.
Tip: Keep your breech open (not locked down see my pic above) it prolongs the life of the seals.

Ok let me update this complaint somewhat. Mike from Innova called when he received my email immediately and was very concerned. It turns out they rotate the sight as they ship it to prevent it penetrating the box (who would have known and it was only partially rotated). Fixed that. The scratched area I quickly realized occurs on this gun when the pump is exercised normally. Is that true for all of these guns? I sent Mike pictures and he said he will do whatever it tales to fix it so I take his word on that.
I am surprised how powerful this thing is with the pump kit. Accuracy is superb. Weaver mount won’t arrive until tomorrow. Its an amazing gun.
As far as Innova goes. They talked me into a refurbished gun which saved me a bit of money. They said that meant the box was damaged but there are some scratches on the bottom of the pump handle and the front sight is a bit crooked which I won’t be using anyway. So be warned. Buying the kit new from someone else even discounted plus the kit would have run another $125. Innova isn’t selling new ones.

I never got the chance to mod my IZZY. I decided to leave it stock for 10 m competition shooting. But, I might buy the mod and keep it aside just in case. My 10 m days are long gone now but I still love to shoot her and her sister …………

Will do. I know the guy who makes the mod and it has been around a while and thoroughly tested. The basic IZH 46M is really only target, bug, and small bird capable although incredibly accurate with a competition level trigger. The mod makes it squirrel capable at close ranges.
