Q:

New, LIGHT air !!

Like already mentioned i bought a new tank to replace my heavy, clumsy old tank. It´s an 8 liter/ 300 bar carbon/composite from Best Fittings, UK.
Weighs nothing in comparison. My unbelievably accurate bathroom scale says 5.4 KG = 11.9 lbs empty.
Gives Papa many fills on the range. 😈

That’s what I’m talking about!

quote Sir Ville:

8L x 300 bar = 2400L. 2400L = 84.755 cu. ft
7L x 300 bar = 2100L. 2100L = 74.161 cu. ft

You didn´t miss anything actually. We calculate our bottles a bit different way. An 8L (a bit over 2 gallons) is how much iex water can be filled in the bottle. Once you know the volume you multiply it with the pressure (300 bar) and get the volume of the air/gas inside. Thus 8L x 300 (bar) = 2400 L.

Get metric USA, get metric !!

I have an extra carry handle and if you pay for the shipping ( between 15-20$) it´s yours.

You are too kind…I already purchased from Best Fittings….but I thank you!

Thanks for sharing…I’ve been itching to buy a carry handle and boot, but Joe’s prices were a bit steep in my opinion. The other option was Airhogs has a setup but they have metal(alumininum?) feet that the bottle lies down in. I like the stand up boot better. I’ve ordered from Bestfittings before and I trust their business practices. $62 shipped to the US for a strap and boot!

Their prices for tanks is amazing! I know its not DOT but if you fill your own tanks who cares! HOW do you convert L to cuft? I tried on my own but came up with 7L= .247cuft I know I’m missing a step in the conversion.

Who knows John….maybe way out in west Texas there may be a need for nitrogen and prices are condsiderably cheaper. If I could get nitrogen for $200 a fill…..I would take that route over a shoebox, small compressor, guppy bottle combo for $1700. That would be 2 years of air without the upfront costs.

Yeah, I’ve considered that. A lot of gasses are mined around here. Helium, Texas wasn’t named for birthday balloons. There’s a major wholesaler within driving distance. I might should talk to them next time I’m up that way.

Okay. I give up. This is already more troublesome than I anticipated, though Argon is intriguing, along with it’s noble brethren. Part of airgun appeal is ammo cost, and this is sounding expensive. And a post seems to have vanished, so maybe the airgun gremlins disapprove.

John

It’s only a viable option if you’re like Free Ville are finnished and born with an welding stick in your hand and spend all day long welding away on pipes and whatnot and then you can sneak a fill for your gun during the official cigarette brake which by the way is legislated by the finnish government and hope your employer doesn’t mind or notice the extreme consumption of welding gas…

Phuuu that was a loong sentence for being asleep Zzzzz

Sent from… here I guess?

Those prices are for Houston area refill stations in an urban area. Not sure if rural areas in different parts of the country are more or less.
