In the process of taking my son’s crib apart to use the wood for pellet trap. He’ll be fine with the mattress on the floor. Daddy’s hobby comes first!

The SWFA Scopes I looked at were quite expensive! I think I’ll stick with Zeiss. 😉

I have 2 hawke scopes… both sidewinders 6.5-20-42 mil dot and a 6-24-50 sr pro. Ive had the mil dot for a while and i got the sr pro about 3 months . I really liked the mil dot a lot works great. but the other scope I’m not as happy with. Its a little milky at 24. and turrets don’t seem to click consistently, sometimes they click but most of the time its to soft of a click for my liking. Otherwise its a good scope.
Now as far as best bang for your buck (going the cheaper route) them aeon’s can’t be beat. call steve over at Wild west and get u one. lot of happy people with them.
now if you wanna spend a little more dough. STep into a SWFA. they are still reasonable and you get FFP.
I agree eelect, with practice eventually you get used to the motion. However, the gun was not mine and I only had a few hrs to shoot it.

I did watch the video from Ernest and I must say it made a big difference for me. I watched it before gun came and actually find it a piece of cake. Its very simple and to engage and disengage. It works just as Ernest said. Just practice a bit and then do it my memory

I am thinking of trying out the Aeon scopes too Doug. I am on a budget so I need to get the most for my money and a few people who have the Aeon, thinks they work really well.
I’ve shot both Edguns and Cricket, both great guns and like many have stated the pros and cons. The one thing that really bothered me with the Cricket was the mag indexing switch. I know Ernest has a video showing us how to use it but I still failed so many times. It was very frustrating and required too much thought for loading pellets. Other members have no issues with it. I like the Matador’s mag system. The downside to the matador is that it requires to hands to cock it. one hand on the grip pushing the gun forward and the other hand pulling the lever back. I don’t mind though, as I stated earlier, it gets easier with time.

As for my home target, I am planning to work on it again next week. Remove everything that is inside of it, lay one layer of electric duct seal on the back followed by a few bags of rubber mulch to fill that box.

I have still yet to see a cricket in person but I like what i see and read, might have to try one someday, Sound like WWAG’s is great to deal with on them. I will probably try to get out of my box mentality and try one soon with one of the Aeon scopes he sells too, just to try it out.

That’s SECoda, he knows everything! Yes I was out in the range today and loving my gun. It didn’t take me long at all to zero it in. I was able to consistently hit 1 inch targets at 100 yds. My .25 mag indexing was smooth and got smoother as time went on. I have a below average scope compared to 99% of the members here 2.5-10×50 Vism. But it did the job for me. I will be in the market for another scope soon. If anyone has a $1k scope and strap for cash let me know and I’ll gladly give you $200.

It’s simple: a good scope, steady position, good discipline and practice! I do it all the time, so much so that its boring and too simple.

WWAG should give you a good deal on the Aeons. I’ve got two of them and they’re excellent for the price, particularly the optical clarity. Make sure you get 30mm rings, too. I got an Aeon 6-24 x 50 on the .25 Cricket, clear, good low light viewing and deadly accurate. The second Aeon is 8-32 x 50, for the .25 Long R3M (style “2”), which has indexing issues. Waiting on Burris sig. rings for that gun. Both scopes are mil dot. The illuminators have excellent ranges in red or green. The very low illumination settings are handy in dark shadows/night or dark backgrounds. Right now, Steve is moving a lot of scopes, so you may need to wait for inventory recovery. I guess, in these hard times, folks are gearing up to supplement their groceries with reindeer meat 😛
