Q:

Raptor Pneumatics EZ-Fill 4500

My new 4500 PSI compressor arrived today….F I N A L L Y ! !

I’m going to do my best to give you a thorough review. There are not many options for filling our tanks, so many of you may be interested in this latest offering. I was told (before it became available to the public) that it was called an OMEGA SUPERCHARGER. Well, looks like they started a new company for this product and the official name on the device is RAPTOR PNEUMATICS EZ-FILL 4500. Size of this unit is similar to a desktop computer tower, but a tad wider and heavier. Package weight was 78lbs….so I’m guessing 70lbs unpacked.

Some pics:

Here are some spare parts and tools included. Nice tools by the way…..

A look at the internals:

Stand by for future posts concerning operation and fill times.

Not sure about support yet. I shot a tire today for the first time. HOLY SHIT that was weird. I have never heard a sound like that before!!!

Shot all day is Amazing, the only different thing is that the pellets never are enough :8:

Not sure about support yet. This is a very new product. Time will tell.

I should be refilling my bottle next week. I’ll let you know what the refill time is. Btw…..this is totally off topic. I shot a tire today for the first time. HOLY SHIT that was weird. I have never heard a sound like that before!!!

Nice find. Pretty cool!

That’s a good looking Unit Dr.! 😉

I put a headset on when I go near my original shoebox and Porter Cable diaphragm compressor. 😯 The PC is very loud.

Ride I’ve never seen the Rolair before. Good to know there is a small and quiet unit available. It could come in handy at work when we do a little maintenance during business hours. When I put this raptor in the garage and shut the door….the noise is bye bye. probably the same with a shoebox anyways.

This compressor sounds great, all in one at reasonable price.
But, The thing mos important is the support.
For example, I have 2 years ago the shoe box, and i changed the orings kit in 3 times, and other parts. And ALWAYS, always, i have support from Tom, all the days in the year (last time i sent and email in christmas day, and the same day i got an answer 😀 ) can you write..
In other words, what about of support in the raptor Pneumatics? Wheter I did´nt find any video in youtube, or any page about it different from PAG&S

I got mine from AOA. Glad to see other vendors carrying it. As far as the internals, it is not as many parts as the shoebox variety. This thing is built like a tank. Shoebox has that erector set kind of look (but very functional). If something was to break/malfunction in a shoebox it could be pinpointed with ease and replaced. With this unit….it’s going back to the manufacturer with a label “I don’t know, it just stopped working”.

What is the complexity of this new unit in comparison, I like the looks but love the simplicity of the SB F8 as far a being able to maintain it with so few parts.

Glad to see it is working well and I love the compactness of that unit. Anxious to here more as you utilize it !!

I have a new Freedom 8 so I have to like it !! …. but honestly have not found it near as noisy and the old shoe box. I feed it with a RolAir shop compressor and the combo is pretty quiet. The RolAir is the Sheite !! in small compressor at 1/3 the sound of any other I have ever heard.

Dr. Steele,
Did you get that through AOA or Precision Airguns because I can only find it through Precision A.?

I imagine so. I got the 2nd one. There was someone else that preordered it. The way I see it, if you’re in the market for a freedom 8, with a few accessories, a shop compressor, air dryer…..you’re at $1500-1600. This unit is less then $1800 and comes with everything. Plus it’s portable….take it hunting with you….it’s like a PC computer tower. It fills maybe twice as fast as a freedom 8…at the very least 60% faster. It operates at 74db. AND THIS IS AT A LOW PITCH….so it does not bother you. The freedom 8 vibrates like crazy….the whole table vibrates. This is pretty smooth. All this for about $200-300 more??? I think shoebox will do something to compete. Either a new low price or a new model that offers more. But, if you want to get a whole system for under $900 then the shoebox original is still untouchable.
