Q:

Should I wait for Cricket .35 ?

I know in their website they have the Cricket .35, but when will this be available in the US Market?

Is .35 a good caliber? Comparing to .30, which one is more preferred?

I’m itching to buy a Cricket sooo bad, just can’t decide between .22, .25, or wait for .35

Any recommendations?

WTF Now there’s rumor of a SEMI-AUTO Hummingbird…for $1400

Not WWAG but KalibrGun itself is the one making a .35. We should find out at the Shot Show in Vegas in about two weeks.

I called Steve at Wild West they said they stopped making the .30 “s because of “problems”
Am I to understand they are going to make the .35??

Yep. It´s possibly they´ll release it there OR at the IWA 2014 in Germany. And you´re correct – there´s never been genuine Cricket .30 cal in the works. It´s always been a .35 cal from the beginning.
Personally i´m satisfied with the .25 as long as airgun power is concerned. I think the .30 cal. pellet already has all too curvy trajectory. If i want something similar i can always use a Bow & Arrow . 😀
I rather take a .22LR if i need the ft.lbs of a .30 cal due the much straighter trajectory.
This is my opinion only thus not to be taken all too seriously – or as the absolute truth.

The answer today is “Yes” but since the release is already postponed twice i wonder if it´ll ever appear.
On the other hand it´s better not to release something that isn´t for 100% satisfactory when the Factory does the long-term testing on it.

I guess that’s better than “just shoot it”.

I don´t much hunt with my Cricket but those few Crows i´ve shot the pellet smack is far louder than the muzzle report. I can imagine how that would sound when it hits something harder, more tense, like iex a Cat.
The pellet smack is the part that´s impossible to tone/quiet down , when hunting. The same deal with powderburners when the muzzle report can be muffled down to almost nothing but the crack when the bullet passes thru the sound barrier is impossible to get rid off …

There are posts with methods of further quieting the stock shroud, or you could get a Neil Clague CF.

My stock .25 is quiet, but for urban, the pellet is making a pretty loud smack. A lot of times, it’s the pellet hitting the tree after it rips through the rodent. For a big urban city, .25 should be plenty big, if not too big. Feral cats can be killed with a .25 Cricket, no problem.

AF/CF is the shroud used and endorsed by the guys in the Rock Band AC/DC…. 😯 I don´t know what the hell i wrote the AF there for but the “CF” means carbonfiber. Now, believe it or not, i have no clue on how the Marauder sounds like. I´ve never shot one neither have a hold one – nor seen one. Those are not common rifles over here and i don´t know anyone who owns one. I don´t even know whether – and if they do – who imports them. I quess the FX is the Benjamin of Scandinavia.

quote Sir Ville:

Yes, it is. I don´t know what you mean by quiet but the hammer slap is the loudest noise on my gun. I have an AF CF shroud on mine now and it´s even quieter that way.
You can always add an extra muffler, although i can´t imagine who´d need it quieter and for what purpose.

By quiet, I mean .22 Marauder quiet….I guess I’m spoiled.
And what is AF CF shroud??

I live in a big urban city and I occasionally shoot squirrels/rabbits in my backyard. So yeah, I need stealth. Don’t need them tree-huggers calling the po-po!

Thanks for the pic Sir. Looks like my LDC’s not going to fit well. Its diameter is 1.5″….

I’m just going to have to hope that it’s quiet stock. Is it?

…. and here´s a bad shroudless pic. The thread is a metric M14 x 1.25 if i remember correctly. The barrel can be re-thread for the UNF , no problem. It´s OD is 15mm.

The gauge is easy to change afterwards. Make a deal with Steve and tell him he needs to give you a new gauge when the next shipment arrives.

quote tcmalker:

I contacted Steve a few weeks ago. Back then I was set on a .22 tactical Cricket and Steve told me that he had a limited supply but they were all color gauges. He also said that the next shipment could be 3-4 months for shipment of numbered gauges. I’m inquiring on the .25 and if he has it I’m a buying!!!

Am I being anal about this? (I said anal, hehehhe)

No. I say get exactly what you want.
