Q:

Edgun soft case good? Bad?

Ok guys, The first think I saw when opening up my box from tony was the green edgun bag;just like everyone else. The first thing I noticed was that the zipper was poped open on both sides of the slide. Ok, I though maybe something happened during shipping to cause this or maybe the box was inspected. It took a little work, but I got the slide all the way around in order to get the gun out of the case and look it over. I don’t think much of it cuse I didn’t buy a bag, I bought a gun and I wasn’t sending the whole thing back cause of a broken zipper and I had already bought a hard ce for it. Wel, the hard case want wide enough and it hd to go back. Now I’ve been fighting with the dam thing for over a month but I jut figured it was a cheap case and not worth bitching about. However, I now see thwt some one has listed there green edgun bag of $150 on the classifieds. Am I missing something here? Based on the one I have, I wouldn’t pay $15 dollars for one, let alone over $100. Is there something iconic about it? I’m actually using mine as the “work space” where I rebuild it in the kitchen table so as not to get moly or anything else everywhere. Is your edgun bag totwly awsome wnd i Should I have complained and asked for a replacement? Or, is your edgun bag a piece of crap as well?

This one is extremely well padded (over an inch of Padding /side) and sturdy. 33″ may be a bit on the long side for the Bug STD. Check the “Bulldog” – brand as well.

I have one in 42″ for my Sako RF and it´s the best Bag i´ve had to date. Lots of storage pockets too and, like said , extremely well padded (and thus pretty heavy) :winkn:

I have used my OEM bags for a few years now with no prob whatsoever. Yes the zipper could have been better, but I like the bags. They were never meant to store guns with scopes and wheels bigger than the gun itself. I only wish I had one extra for my Cricket std. I have been through most of the offers on internet/ebay, – but find it difficult to find the “ideal” bag for the purpose. Any suggestions anybody ??? :smilen:

Okay, then… i am waiting …

Ill measure the inside foam so you could tell if the matador long would fit.

thanks brother Urg;

Both guns and the case are very nice ,,,, do you think the long version of Edgun will be fit for this Pelican(1700) ? i believe there will be only a half inches space from both side,,, do you think it will be okay,,,?????? i know pelican model 1720 will be okay and plenty of spaces …. but i would like to know if whether this one will be fit or not?

When I get home today I’ll take better pics for you…the ones I have weren’t taken to show the gun in its case.

could you please post a pic, i would like to see them inside the great pelican …..

The bag is just part of the shipping/packaging and it suits that purpose well, so no. You aren’t entitled to a new bag just because your zipper split.
They barely fit the gun sans scope and as you and many others noticed have a chit zipper that is unlikely to last long.
But as to keeping the Edgun in good condition during shipping they are fine.
Like you or someone else mentioned, you bought a gun, not a case.

Lol that’s a good use for the bag….

On the other hand if someone told me they wanted to knock off $100 from the price because of a bag…I’d tell them to kiss my ass and find another rifle…no way the bag had a value of $100 or any kind of sentimental value…when I got rid of my bag it was to put my rifle into something better that can protect it the way the stock bag couldn’t….which is why my edgun and cricket are in a nice pelican hard case.

Mine is not for sale! I found a good use for it

I’m just asking cause I want to know if it worth pushing for a replacement. I hadn’t bothered but then I saw your for sale and figured I’d ask

If you have any luck, i gotta piece of string i want to see pushed up a hill next

I am actually fond of the OEM cases and would expect to get one with a used gun if I was buying, I’d dock the value $100 w/o so selling the bag separate would be a no/no to me for anything less. That’s just me. Now on the other hand it is just a shipping bag and severs little for protection in practical use and transporting and banging around so who has a great hard case solution that they think is perfect for these guns. I am a little more sensative about protection not that I got two of the 4 guns dialed in to perfection. Perfection is a relative term !!!

dont hurt to ask and post your results after answer has been given

the bag in question would be my bag, whats it worth I don’t know but I think its iconic for sure its an edgun bag without any markings on it we know that,so why am I selling it,the bag does not fit the gun or better the gun is too long for the bag yes it fits but its a tight fit,so much so I think it puts the barrel under tension when zipped up and that’s the 30 cal im talking about, I think the long bag would have been a better fit for the 30 cal,my 30 cal zipped up in this bag is tight enough you can see the mod end pushing on one end pretty good and my luck that would be the end that gets bumped into a door jam or car door moving the gun around so I was gonna get a longer padded bag that gave the gun plenty of room,if I insulted anyone on here by doing the unthinkable by divorcing the gun from the bag well im guilty as charged but now you know why,as for the price that was just a wild guess.
