Just Broke A Cricket Valve Stem
I have one of the early Crickets from March 2013 with the original metal/plastic valve stems and have about 2500 shots though the .22 standard skeleton Cricket. Luckily, Steve had sent me a replacement all metal valve stem for free waiting for this day to happen. :suprisedn:
I will finally put in one of the metal hammer spring adjusters as I change the valve. 🙂

Those rods are an easy job for someone with Lathe skills and an access to some aluminium / stainless.

The Cricket is all metal but has a thin delrin washer where the valve seals. Looks like a better design. The valve will never break but I guess the delrin washer could wear…. but I doubt it.
I’m disappointed to see this.

🙁 I agree, no one has been able to replicate this in any form of metal?

That’s obese! There is no way in hell there is more than 5.0 dollars worth of parts there. I love the look of the Ed Gun, but that looks like pure Chinese manufactured Junk! 😯

Done ! :biggrinn:
Haaaa ! I´ll copy and save that one for later usage . :biggrinn:
Put this picture of $100.00 of Edgun parts with it !! 😯 In the mean time I will put them in a thimble and store them on the airgun spare parts shelf. :biggrinn: I really don’t mind too much but was shocked when I stopped to think about it.

All of the Matadors are plastic. 😀 My Cricket has 2500 shots on the plastic one and was still going strong. I don’t think the new metal one will ever break.
I have to admit that the Cricket all-metal valve stems look a bit mightier than the Matador valve stems.

Mine had the plastic one too but didn’t wait for it to break. Got a steel one from Ernest almost right off the bat and installed it. I had it appears to set regulator so it was the sensible thing to do

hehe my cricket is nr. 752 it was equipped with plastic stem. I had bad luck when I wait 48 crickets than I got with aluminum stem :biggrinn:
I don’t see anything wrong with and now think I just shot it down too far maybe 60 or 70 bar? Would it behave like that? The serial # is 00461 so the valve still should be replaced even though its looks metal from what I can tell. 😳
Yes, I notice serial # above 0800 have metal valve stem.

Ernest , do the newer cricket .25 already have metal stems in them?
If you purchase from WWAG and broke a plastic Stem, I WILL GIVE YOU A NEW METAL STEM!! :ugeekn:

Coda – that Delrin washer is to be found as a spare part for around 35 Euro Cent’s = .50 USD .
