wingman, looking at this picture would it be possible to add the length by pulling the breech back instead of stretching the front out that far? effectively keeping the same grip location but making the reach a little longer. you could split the 80mm in half and add a little to the front and end up with 100mm stretch while keeping a nice balance.
if that makes any sense at all. it would still be compact but you could add a little barrel length and be able to hush it down in the process with the longer shroud?

You could move it rearward about an inch with a longer trigger linkage and a mod to the in-letting in the stock but it wouldn’t get more than a shot or two extra..it is also more involved on a “production” level. My recommendations dont require too much added process to the manufacturing of the .177 and .22 P12, it is just longer material and larger ports.
I gave SPA the recommendation of 80mm as I worked that on calculations of air usage for the cylinder volume v/s barrel length to get it up to the possible 50 shots like the .22 cal. It will also provide a future chassis for a .30 and .35cals.
I am yet to see the SPA prototype so will be interested to know if they took that advice or not.
I got an email from SPA yesterday and they sent me pics and data on 5 new PCP models now available.. the .25 cal P12 was just one of them. 😉

I can understand, if he’s new, that he doesn’t understand my sense of humor…but being banned from the Yellow confuses me. I abide by its stringent rules/regs, because that’s the way you get along over there. It’s Yellow Classified is first rate, but has a lot of stringent rules. I can respect that.

Mrod…do you have any price range on the .25 yet?
Basically it’s a .22 with more air coming through the .22 valve, according to Chickenwing in NZ, so other than a premium because it says .25 instead of .22, I would hope the price range stays in the sub-1000 USD so more of us can afford them. The $800 range would be do-able for a lot of us, especially us oldsters who rely on fixed incomes, and petty theft, to get by!
I loved my .25 Cricket and Edgun, but I couldn’t own both. Hell’s bells…today I can’t even afford one! The P12 in .25 caliber might be a viable option, especially if SPA listens to ‘Wing’s specifications! There’s nothing more pathetic than an under powered .25 caliber. We need a 30gr pellet to crack 1000 fps so we can tune it down to 850 fps and dial up to the best velocity for accuracy.
I’m certainly interested, but as always…price will keep my feet on the ground.

Reaper….the old Bitch is still around. As evidenced by the fact that I set out some “jugs” for catfish the other night…which is in strict violation of our Community Rules. I got up at 6:00 am and retrieved them, hoping that was early enough to miss most of the early risers.
Later that day my wife demanded to know if I had been on the lake at 6 AM, didn’t just ask…demanded to know if I was, as if it was a fucking criminal act!
Anyway, the Witch next door had been up and observing whether I was doing anything that she might not approve of, and spotted me on the lake. She later called my wife and wanted to know what was going on. My wife and her are friends!!! So, I got the third degree later that afternoon.
Well, I did what any sane married man would do under those circumstances, I lied! I told her I had gotten up to take a piss, and when I passed the window I thought I saw what looked like a body floating in the lake, so I went out to investigate. I explained I had hoped it was Howard, my next door neighbor’s husband, but it turned out to be a log. So, disappointed, I came back in and went back to sleep. Which is exactly what I would have done had it indeed been Howard…fuck ’em, let someone else drag his sorry ass out of the lake!

Oh…one other thing! A couple of years ago, Howard, who thinks of himself as a world class champion Bass fisherman, fished off his dock every day. Well, I had been give one of those “Billy Bass” singing bass plaques that were so popular back then. It quit working, but the bass was very real looking. I took it off the board, ripped out the musical device inside and stuffed it with foam peanuts and closed it up. By putting a 4 ounce lead weight on the bottom with monofilament line. I finally got it perfectly balanced to float suspended about twelve to eighteen inches under the surface…just enough to look really really like a large suspended bass waiting/watching for something to eat. I put it about fifteen yards off Howard’s dock early one morning and quietly left the scene. At that time of year, the lake was crystal clear.
Snicker!!! That evening I watched Howard cast his damn arm off trying to get that bass to hit everything in his tackle box! After a few days I noticed Billy the Bass had been snatched and thrown onto shore all tangled up with his monofilament line and weight. Nothing was ever said about it. I believe Howard was too embarrassed to admit I had watched him cast his ass off trying to catch an artificial bass. Then came the chicken’s heads exploding, and the vulture shit on their skylight. Since my excuse of seeing a body in the lake, now I’m thinking of stuffing some old pants and a shirt with something that semi-floats, attaching some kind of head on it, and anchoring it 30-40 yards off their dock…it has to look like a corpse floating face down in the lake. Yes…yes, that will work nicely. I’ll need to wait for a month or two to let things get nice and quiet…then let the ugly old Bitch look out the lake and see a floating body off her dock. Perhaps I’ll stuff some gutted fish parts in the shirt so there will be vultures ripping at it trying to tear the flesh off the corpse!!!! This has serious potential and will require some thought and planning. Perhaps I will post some pictures!!!

yeah i think i read something about that hoot. and i read something about your neighbor lady and her chickens. what ever happened to her? she still around scowling at you for the last mess you made on the side of her house?
If it can push a 25gr pellet past 1000 fps, ensuring a high fpe on 30gr and heavier pellets, then it will grab a lot of interest.
If it shoots as good as it looks, priced right, what’s not to like! I love the smell of 65 FPE in the morning! I don’t like paying $1900 for that kind of performance.

gochya. i was looking at it as a balance issue for weight. not sure how much more it would add with the stock extended and the tube weighs next to nothing in comparison to the rest of the foreward parts.
