Q:

need some help with a talon frame

Are there any Edge owners that are also machinists who could modify my talon frame? I would like to use an Edge grip and tank so that would require frame modification. Anyone that can help please PM or just respond here!

Question two: if I use an Edge tank and have an adjustable hammer spring, would that get me up to 12 fpe? Thanks again!

I’m digging the scout rifle/carbine setup!!!!

That’s what I was hoping- I looked up the specs, the shortest LOP for the Edge is 12″ (assuming the stock is collapsed all the way). If the tank is 9.5″ long stock, adding 2.5″ should bump the LOP up to 14-14.5″. Totally acceptable! The LOP for an A2 stocked AR15 is 13.5-14″ and that is too short for me. This is starting to work out perfectly!! Thanks again for everyone’s help, and pictures!!

That is just the reservoir tube length. This rifle was designed for smaller children to shoot comfortably, but still be adjusted to where larger teens or adults can shoot it also. The tank has to be short to accommodate the shorter length of pull for some. I on the other hand can deal with at least 2.5″ more tank.

I’m not going to use a AR stock anymore. Im just going to copy the Edge tank. Here’s a question: the length you gave me: 9.5″, is that just the reservoir length or the OAL from the tophat to the fill nipple?

If you are thinking of using a standard AR stock, you might want to check ID to make sure it fits. I think the OD of a buffer tube is 1.1″.

So bumping the length of the tank to 12″ should make the shortest LOP around 14″ maybe a bit more? If that’s the case, that would be perfect, because a standard A2 stocked AR15 LOP is 14″. That’s a little short for me, but w/the adjustable buttpad, that is perfect!!

Awesome! Thats the same OD as the Marauder! Perfect! Thanks so much for the info!

The actual tank is 1.25″ OD and 9.5″ long. If I am not mistaken it is the same tubing used by most manufacturers to make the reservoirs on many PCPs. I have been talking to Jim Gaska of Marmot Militia and when I have some more change in my pocket, it is my intent to have a 12″ tank made for my Edge. I can lengthen the tank that much and still use the Edge stock. That would likely increase my shot count by 20 – 30 more shots.

Exactly, yes. But I would make the dimensions the same as the edge tank so I could use the stock assembly…

Like this?

Does anyone know the tank dimensions of the edge? Maybe I could build a copy with a talon valve…

Ah, I see, so there is validity to my concern about scope height in airguns… I shoot a lot of powder burners too, and I always try to get the scope mounted as low as possible on the rifle w/o interfering. I’m very much considering lowering the scope rail and making it a side cocking rifle for this reason.

Don’t worry you will not be needing to raise it. The biggest problem when shooting these rifles at only 12ftlb is that the scope is mounted far to high. A low power talon is far more friendly if you fit a tube like I have there, A Etac to angle the stock tank (see my avatar) or a Talon Tune tank adapter to lower the stock tank ( see link top of scream). Then slam the scope as low as you can get away with. You can use the Hawke Optics ChairGunPro software to illustrate better what I am saying. On full power rifles its not so much of a issue because of the much flatter trajectory.
