Q:

you guys were right

The 25 Marauder is still the power horse, But limit to about 16 shoots,
The Cricket 22 fill it up in the AM and shoot it all day, 45 shots and 45 dead sparrows , This gun is amazing , Now I am only shooting to 35 to 48 yards and its a no miss deal on the sparrows, As every one said the Cricket is my go to gun, I am setting the Marauder up as my bench rest gun. Just waiting to order some parts to raise the FPS to 1000 and a little below 990 or so, We going to blow up some sparrows with the polymag .25 pellets,,
But every day I shoot the 22 Cricket it it just amazes me in shot count and hits, I am looking at ordering an extra air spacer with a gauge,
Is it a pretty good deal?
The Cricket is the real deal,, Lots of money but money well spent,,,

Nope. Without it. The reg spacer will give you some extra puff nevertheless. And few extra shots. I haven´t had the time to even tinker with my .25 WB so the RAI haven´t been used on that one. I had it on my .25 WST though so that´s how i know. :fishinghole:

quote Sir Ville:

The reg on mine is set at 107B – exactly. I shoots 25.4gr Kings at 278 mps with very little deviation. I don´t know what they did on these new WB´s (except the new scope bridge, new stock and the reg pressure was set to 125B at the factory) but that´s like it is anyways. Why you can´t get yours over 920 fps ? Beats me.
I have the VST at about 3/4 turn from touch down and it will shoot into the same hole at least 60 shots from a 200-205B fill. Maybe mine was given steroids while it was just a Baby ??

Those who have either .177 or .22 has to consider one thing: Eventhough the reg on their guns is set at 135B the tranfer port etc is of a much smaller size so they need the extra pressure to get the speed up to those levels.

One more thing, is this performance with the reg spacer installed as I know that adds a bit of volume…still I’m gonna try to replicate your performance, 60 shots from a 200 bar fill is very nice :geekn:

There must be something different than valve spring. Either there is a change in the different diameters of the air duct or something like that. I can not believe one cricket could get 930fps with regulator set to 105 bar and another cricket with same regulator pressure setting can’t go above 920fps… 🙄 Can anyone clarify?

Clarification requested: There is actually a simple explanation, explained by Newtonian physics…one Rule in specific, as Sir Issac Newton clearly stated at the 1726 European Physics Conference held in Berlin, Germany, shortly before his death in 1727: “Someone…changed something!”

I couldn’t have said it plainer myself!

Kindest regards,

I get 60 shots , minimum , from 200b fill. I shoot 25.4 gr Kings at around 930 fps. The reg is set at 105 B. My new WB is more air efficient than my older WST was. I quess i could have those 45 shots with 30 gr at 1000 fps though.

105 bar? Did you weaken the valve spring tension when you set her that low? When mine was at 110 bar I couldn’t get the velocity above 920 just by using the HST.

He’s probably exaggerating those eye shots too – or at least he left out the part that by the green, flushing Meadows surrounding the pictoresque village of Toad Suck those Armadillos grow up to size of a White Rhino. Their eyes are about as big as overgrown Apples ( also found at surroundings) so even a blind Man is able to put a Cricket version of “five across the eyes” on them. While drunk as a Monkey.

Thanks for explanation Mr. Hoot: 😆 😆

Dear Number Eight….

I have no idea what my regulator is set at. I did drill out the valve transfer port, per Ernest modifications.

I shoot only 21gr Barracudas at 875 fps. I do have the Hammer Spring Adjuster turned in until the chrony showed I started losing velocity, that’s where I stopped. Velocity is only half the equation to power. You can shoot slower with 21gr pellets and still get more fpe. I’m not a bench shooter, thus my desire for a heavier pellet. I live in the mountains in Arkansas and we are infested with possum, raccoon, and armadillos. They tear up my flower beds, that makes my wife mad, she then makes me mad, I then make the critters dead.

35 fpe is about maxed out for that little .22, although Ernest got one up to 37 fps, but I’m not Ernest.

I have a skeleton stock, the gun weighs next to nothing, and it is quite accurate for a guy who is half blind. At the close distances I shoot in the woods, I can still put five shots inside a raccoon’s eye at 25 meters using my scope and bipod. That doesn’t sound like much, but you try putting those last four shots in his eye while he’s jumping all over the woods with his brain shorted out from the first shot. A lessor man couldn’t do it…but that’s just the way I roll…..    (yes yes…I may wait a minute, or five, after the first shot before I put four more in his brain bucket…but I’m old and lie a lot!)

Kind regards,

Hoot:

I think Hoot: or Sir Ville can answer that question better than I.

Zonk I can´t believe how different crickets are. I could not set more then 32fpe 892fps (272mps) I doubt you have set regulator to 135bar. I can not imagine how can I get 930fps only set regulator to approx. 135bar. Am I right?

Octavius, My .22 Cricket is shooting around 33-34 FPE and my .22 Bobcat I had up to 39 FPE and still shot good with the 18 gr JSBs

… what do you think why is more efficiency? Was something changed inside ?

Wow 45 shots from a 25, I may have just put my compressor on hold,, Looks like I need a 25 Cricket,
45 shots, I am 100% impressed , I guess the marauder is going for sale,,,

I figured that M-rod would be gone once you got your hands on a Cricket…….
