Q:

TD257 DOWN…257 DOWN!!!! Ok, its fixed now..lol!

Well, long story short, just when I got the TD257 reconfigured to the new MD STOCK, my 1st outing with her since then, I had a “Splitting” experience. Yeah, that’s right, I removed the WOK Butt stock and then removed the Air Force bipod and then installed a REAL bipod on the MD stock and off I went. Well, once at my locale, I got roughly 10 shots into my session and the dang gun malfunctioned. Man, I was so excited to test the gun in its new config and BAM, the breech breaks on me while in the field……….ARRRRRRRGH!

But hey, its all good, the gun has thousands if not 10’s of thousands of shots through her. Hey, let be real…….stuff happens………….

Split breech:

The results were nothing more than consistently low shots and not very accurate ones at that!

After crying to Doug, he set up a time and day for me to come over and by the time I could, he had already had an idea for me a new breech.

Reinforced breech:

I removed the crappy air force bipod and installed it on the MD stock where it SHOULD be. I also removed the Wok guard on the bottle. Now she is ready for testing part 2……..

THANKS DOUG NOBLE FOR DOING SUCH GREAT WORK AND KEEPING MY GUN RUNNING.

Stay Tuned!

That aluminium breech is breechography

Yes I did.

I have one on my .30 and .308. .25 and .257 have full shrouds.

Dyotat100, did you make the frame end cap as well?

Forced retirement sucks! you have all the time in the world, and don’t have the money to enjoy it. Grrrrrr!!! 😆

Guess I’ll just have to go shoot! 😀

Knife

I check in from time to time…but I can’t keep up with the exponential growth of the technological genius that permeates this forum. Way too much reading, far too little time. But the love of the “black rifle” still flows in me veins :biggrinn:

Thanks guys.

Joe, its good to see yah around sir!

Don’t stay gone so long next time………….

Wow, that new hard cased breech is sweet doug. Form and function! I am a month into building my tattoo shop. Once it’s up and running I am going to dust off my girl and push her limits. That rig is looking good Cedric!

I built the gun for him. Just made a stronger breech for it. My .257 is still using delrin breech with no problems so far.

Thanks Dyotat, so this gun now has a breech, valve, hammer and spring made by you?

26.625″ long.

Knife maker is running 21″ barrel

What is the length on that barrel again? You posted 21″ at one time and then 26″ but, it looks to be longer. 😀

That’s one sweet looking Rifle there wish it was in my hands.
