Q:

What happened to TED ?

The kid used to be pretty involved and active on the various forums,
I haven’t seen anything from him in quite sometimes.

Of course it’s about the wind. Every one of us that take pests at 70 yards and beyond knows that. Looks like some like stirring the pot

So here’s Ted:

Yup, Chapmans a great dude. I really like how he uses whats considered low end guns even though he has access to all the dream guns you can think of. I bet he uses Marauders as much as he uses Daystates..

If you are into airgun hunting I like Jim Chapman for easy reading. He also reviews a lot of guns and travels to exotic spots hunting like Africa.

Ted is one of those “celebrities” that everybody love but it refuses to show up and enjoy all the fame.

I know he has a small child, off course family first. But we all miss him. I really love the old days when his videos where every 15 days or every month with his “old” matador 2.5. I just came back to the airguns because of him (after 20 years away).

Of course I did not was able to buy an Edgun (when I wanted one, nobody here had it to sell. And prices here you can imagine). So I really really miss his presence on this scenario.

And yes, I think this videos now are for FX. But, that’s the world how it works. No problem there.

OMG you nearly caught me on Posts while I couldn’t get to Talon. 😯 😆

I just LOVE this !

DaveG (custom builder over on the Yellow) says FX ST barrels are good if you test and select them carefully. He has sent entire lots back. I guess folks didn’t know that the FX owner is at the EB supplying their best guns for the competition to their team. Tim did the same thing with his own USFT Lone Ranger but his barrel uses a special cut rifling process for match guns. It could be the next big thing and it only took one gun to beat all of the FX’s. That is quite a showing. 😛

Who is this Fred? and how do you get him to supply you with these special barrels?

Fredric is the owner of FX airguns, How do you get one?
You will have to buy 15 or more of his guns and hope that one of them has a good barrel.. then sell the others on the yellow for a heavily discounted price because they only want Crickets there now..
…Sounds a bit like the P12!

Who is this Fred? and how do you get him to supply you with these special barrels?

Separate the unsponsored home shooters (like you and me) from the manufacturer or their sponsored shooters. Some are supplied guns with the top shooting barrels from Fred. You will hear folks speak to variability from barrel to barrel for off of the shelf FX guns. Why not have the sponsored group use select barrels – especially when you own the company? There is nothing wrong with it and if the barrels were not capable of great accuracy anyway it would not help. This is not a big dollar competition so I would hope the manufacturers or their sponsored folks would win. (that is why Tim won this time too). The have access to stuff a typical buyer does not. Rigged may be the wrong term.

Can’t figure out how you can rig something like that. Guys all sit on same chairs with their own choice gun and have at it ..

quote SECoda:

Once you capitalize on a specific brand its tough to recover and be considered fair. Add to that a failed massive attempt by FX at this years Extreme Benchrest event and it may be a good time to hide out for awhile. FX owned nearly the entire field in numbers and still handily got their butt kicked. When the game is rigged and you still lose it’s over for a while. Ted got sidetracked but is still a nice guy. He probably sold a lot of Bobcats for FX. It’s like a politician that stays in office too long. You guys need a new airgun hero. :1: I like reading Jim Chapman.

I don’t understand why you say the EBR is rigged? Is it because so many guys are shooting FX guns? I understand you can shoot any gun you want.
