anyone experiencing R3M magazine indexing issues?
I’ve read of one individual talking about magazine-indexing issues with the R3m. I’m a new owner (I will be when the gun arrives). I’ve watched Ed’s video on proper cocking of the gun to advance the magazine, so I’m at least familiar with how it’s supposed to be done. So who can tell me about the indexing system? What are your experiences with it? Is your gun a retrofit (kit) or a factory-made multishot? Is this a big-deal flaw or a result of poor cocking technique, as you observe it in actual use?

huntjunky, I will rest assured tonight , thanks to the feedback and replies from you and others here. Delivery is less than 24 hours away for my “night before Christmas”, “Happy Birthday” and “Happy Anniversary, Dear!”) present. Yes, I had wifely agreement. :winkn: I don’t want to raise my expectations out of proportion, having come from a Hummingbird debacle, but I am stoked, pumped and eager.

So to recap, if you have a current model R3M, there are no issues. If you have the older version, some do. My curiosity is, those with complaints, seem never to mention having the distributor or manufacture participate in a resolution…you would think this would be a no brainer. Darryl, no worries mate, action and design is just fine. Enjoy.
One thing that hasn’t been mentioned, relevant to mis-feeds and indexing, is the magazine advance switch. If this is not fully engaged, I can see these problems developing. Just stating the obvious. It’s similar to the fiasco that transpired, over the holidays with my in-laws garage door opener. Cousins, uncles, fathers and sons checking breakers, limiter switches, wiring, cables, etc. Ran down, after the 911 call, and plugged it in for them. It had partially backed out of the receptacle and just needed a little push.
I also have a .22 that originally was a ss and was able to acquire a R3M breech. I didn’t get rid of the ss this time just in case I want to go back for any reason due to the cycling issues with my previous R3M. For whatever reason my .22 is better. Why, I don’t know? However after endless yanking, pellets, spit, I gave up and found some mods for polishing the cocking bolt pin.
Would I trade my Edgun for another PCP? No I wouldn’t, once I get these minor bugs handled I will begin enjoying them once again 😉

your situation highlights a big point with the Edgun; you can work on it yourself. Thank you for the lube link. I’ve saved it to my reference Edgun folder. That you would not trade your Edgun(s) for another PCP speaks volumes for the marque as well.

I have a Edgun .25 that was bought as a single shot. I found someone on here that wanted to trade their R3M breech for my ss. Now I know why he didn’t like it. Mine has been misfeeding since the day I got it, roughly 2 years now. It will not index properly and I’ve tried everything I can from polishing to lubing, even a little spit. Cocking is stiff and very inconsistent. I’ve put roughly 1k pellets through it as well.
I also have a .22 that originally was a ss and was able to acquire a R3M breech. I didn’t get rid of the ss this time just in case I want to go back for any reason due to the cycling issues with my previous R3M. For whatever reason my .22 is better. Why, I don’t know? guys, if the weather doesn’t stop UPS, and we only got a dusting here in SW Ohio, I should have some Edgun goodness tomorrow by 1:pm EST. huntjunky, thank you for the update. Obviously I’m quite encouraged. Tony even told me my sample wasn’t a “used” one! :rofl:

My Experience:
–2 week old Edgun Matador .25 Long–
936 shots-0 mis-feeds; functions left or right handed…heavy but smooth, no grinding, binding, or sticking; 0 misalignment to breech port, and best of all…no evidence of “Pippo syndrome”. No disrespect my Masterful Purveyor of Pedantic Persuasion.
If you have trouble pulling the bolt back, which requires less force than feeding the pellet, I would recommend an autoloader, along with a strong dose of “cowboy up”.

I did my homework, and expect Wednesday delivery of a Gen-2 R3M. Toshik assured me it’s an absolutely brand new R3M. I hope it’s a Gen-2. I’ll be able to tell when i receive it. Wish me luck.
