I would like to determine which bull is the most silent one in .25 given that they all shoot at around 290 m/s.

You are talking opinions here and nothing more then a little here and a little there. All these guns are ballz asp accurate. There are slight differnces in their sound profiles which are in fact a matter of taste. However the Taipan is BUTT ASS UGLY and until they change up that brick they have built their amazing platform on there is not a chance in hell I’d even consider buying one no matter how much you talk it up.
My numbers on the db meter show that the cricket and EDgun long have the same level of noise. The pitch is different. There is a more pronounced spring noise on the EDgun. I think this makes the EDgun sound louder to the shooter. Ville is spot on with Vulcan improvement. I have a new moderator coming from Vulcan so I will report on it when it comes.

I was also thinking that stock Cricket is more quiet than the stock Matador long. Keyser, do you have them both? I am also interested in Vulcan .25 shroud improvements. Do you have any details on that? Is it true that some other parts were also upgraded?

Pretty is pretty with no arguments there , however , I will always take effectiveness over pretty regardless how ugly it is .

Well if it’s only the stock that stops the Taipan from being the “Top Bullpub” then this can be solved easily.
Wingman as soon as he will get the hands on one will dress her with a beautiful higher grade walnut dress :thumb:
(Personally I prefer a stock to knock around and a special stock for the “show” if you really want to)
The one thing I like about the R3M is the magazine cutoff. It makes for de-cocking the gun a sinch. I find myself using the single shot option a lot in the Taipan. If I could make the perfect gun I would use the Vulcan stock and bolt system, Taipan indexing and Edgun cutoff.
The “auto indexing” magazines to make a multishot are some kind of “work around” to make a single shot become a multishot.
While a real “smooth revolving magazine” in the breech is some kind of “clock work”, like the Colt Python clock work 😀
The latter system is a far superior engineering work and deserves all respect.
(The R3M is probably the poorest example of real revolving magazines, instead of that I would have preferred by far an auto-indexing magazine)

Pip I think you’re right about the Taipan. If it had a Vulcan style stock it would be the top bullpup for sure.
