Q:

Way dumb question: Cricket stock removal

I want to remove the stock in order to adjust the trigger. I removed the bolt in the forestock but the stock would not budge. There is a bolt in the pistol grip and I began loosening that but got a bad feeling so I am walking away until someone is kind enough to give me some guidance. This is how it always starts with me then the next thing I know is I’m sending it in for repair
🙄 :confusedn:

Thanks for any help…

It is interested. One guy from Czech ask me last year why he has one extra belleville washer in the regulator for cal. 25 It seems they had some mess in the factory during reg. installation.

The extra washer is so you can tune it above 130 bar for high power tune, true for the 25 cal as well.
If I where to use only JSB 8.4g instead of 10.34g then I would take the extra washer out.
If you don’t and try to tune it down it will start to close off the 2 inlet holes on the reg.

Also for the 25 cal, if you’re going to use the new JSB King Heavy 34g I would install an extra washer to tune it above 140 bar.

Greg why they set regulator so high? Have you any idea ?

It needs to be set that high to send JSB 10.34g at 930 fps.
I tried removing the extra Belleville washer and could not get it to that speed, not enough power.
It would take a stiffer hammer spring and maybe some porting out transfer to get the equivalent speed.

Not all that sure I didn’t have time to play around to check.
But I like the factory setting it shoots very well like that.

Thanks Jan !!

My Cricket Compact 177 cal setting from the factory is.

Reg set to 142 bars and has an extra Belleville washer.
Valve spring retainer set to 1 turn after contact.

With the above setting it’s sending JSB 10.34g at a maximum of 930 fps.
At 890 fps I’m getting 6 mags = 84 shots from a 220 bar down to 120 bar.

Yes yes I know about mutant. Enjoy it and I wish good results.

Hi Jan,

I didn’t work on the Cricket 22 standard yet.
My Cricket 177 compact needed to have the regulator rebuilt and is working good as before.

As you may know I bought a Mutant Shorty 22 cal and so far has occupied most of my shooting time.
I do need to work on the Cricket Standard I’m just don’t know when I’ll be.

Greg nice device. 🙂 I´m curious how right is set your reg now 🙂

Hi Jan,

I’ll be testing my 22 standard first.
I’d like to know exactly where it is set to in case I need to rebuild it again.
It fall off at about 115 bar but I think it’s actually set to 120 bar ?

I used the crony method to set it but because it is shooting so good now I don’t what to loose it’s reference settings.
With this tester I can adjusted it back exactly where it was before without guessing again.
I tried to measure it before but for some reason it didn’t get me to the exact same setting.

Hi Greg,

niece to see your measure results of both crickets??? Did you already measure?

thx

Nice Drum. I’ve always had hair triggers, 2oz or less. Anything more than that I feel like It’s my first date trying to get into her panty’s…..I really like that gentle touch……

Hey Zonk…I left the trigger position “as is”…I like it where it’s at. No 1st stage adjustment. I lightened the overall (leaf spring) tension on the 2nd stage and decreased the sear travel. But I have gone back and increased the tension on the leaf spring and slightly increased the sear tension as it was just too light for me. It wouldn’t go off when jarring the gun but just too light for my liking. I don’t have a trigger gauge; just going by feel but this sucker is a hair trigger. :8: I have to guess that it’s probably between 2-4 oz…but I just don’t know. I got all the 2nd stage creep out which was my main objective..Really liking it now.

Drum, what do you have your trigger set at? Mines at 2 oz.

Thanks for the responses. Got stock off with ease…now the trigger is adjusted and is beautiful! Light and breaks like glass.

it will be interesting to see your results because this will give me a ball park of were my reg is set also. :biggrinn: thanks again GKU!!!!

I´m patience for testing your regulator Greg.

Hi Jan,

S týmto testera môžem upraviť ho späť presne tam, kde to bolo predtým, než opäť bez hádania.
Snažil som sa to pred mieru, ale z nejakého dôvodu to nedostal, aby som presne rovnaké nastavenie.
