Keeping bullseye
I’ve owned a lot of firearms, nearly all purposely built for accuracy and I hand-loaded the rounds myself. That’s my lame attempt to quickly explain I know how to hit a target, day after day, in different calibers and understand centerfire rounds (I understand this part doesn’t apply here).
Anyway, is it common for a PCP to need to be fine tuned day after day in order to nail the bullseye? Rarely have I shot my Cricket, from one day to the next, and hit the same point. OK, it’s only off by a fraction, but it still moved. Once it’s zero’d, it stays there. Is it because we are dealing with compressed air vs powder?
On the other hand, this thing smokes my .22 Ruger at 50 yards.

Anything under an inch @ 100 yards takes skill to achieve with everything else working with you ideally.
An indoor 100 yard range can help, man that is if one can be lucky enough to find one. :suprisedn:

I believe the Cricket is capable do similar result for 50 or 100y with good series of JSB and no wind condition.

BTW, this is my pride shot taken at 100 yard last December (no funny dates :)) and in an in-door range
:rofl: I just noticed that also…….that’s some funny shit. But That is a real 50 yard target I shot indoors at my wifes work place. Their all hunters and shooters so of course they let me shoot indoors. And yes they were all impressed.

Yep – it takes me 20 – 30 min to mount a scope. In fact, I might change out the scope and see if I get different results. I would hate to think my scope has a problem since its a FFP tactical Bushnell and I know the mildest well.
My .22 has the Primary Arms FFP 4-14X on it with a QD mount. Was my first FFP and I sure like it. I’m thinking before the Fall, I may spring for a “real” FFP scope for my .25. I just didn’t want to drop the $$ for one if I didn’t like how it worked. The FFP on my .22 has made a believer out of me (that and some serious discussions on glass on here). For less than $300, that Primary Arms scope has done a magnificent job. I’ve played with the magnification across the range and the mil-mil turrets and reticle seem to be dead nuts. If you are going to get new glass for yours, I’d not have any problem recommending it to you. Others on here (Chad in particular) recommended it to me and it’s been sweet so far…
Zonk is there anyway I could setup royalties on that target pic? I could buy more Crickets and that new Rotex R8. LOL 💡
Same here eelect, I always grab my cricket by the scope when lifting it from the back seat of my truck. NEVER had a POI issue.

I always lift my cricket from the back seat by the scope. Holds zero just fine. I would even hit the cab roof once in awhile while bringing her to the front. Looks like when everything is settled in it just stayed that way.

Yea, Salt lets blame Zonk he was an instigator over on the Marauder list , And now I got two crickets,,
Marauders are the worst guns at holding a zero,
My 25 will move a little after a cleaning and go back to zero after a few shots, My 22 is a lot better and sometimes will stay on zero even after cleaning .
I know I baby my Crickets a lot, but coming from a Marauder , I do not stand my guns up leaning on the barrel, I do not pick my gun up by the barrel or the scope, I am very careful not to bump my guns,

With it shooting that well, It almost has to be a scope/mount issue. Being a powder burner accuracy guy, I’m sure you’ve checked the cleanliness of the mounts/rings and tightness, so first thing I’d check is the glass itself.
Yah, it was tuned by Ernest and here is a target from yesterday. But as you can see, it’s not a bullseye. It took a click or two to get it back. This is 5 shots at 40 yards.

Wow Awny that’s something!! Man I bet your proud of that group…I can only get 75 yards at wife’s work place. It’s better than nothing.
