Q:

Taipan talk…..

Ok lets talk Taipan here,

so I noticed some differences with the Taipans.
Lets start off with this pic, click the pix too make them bigger.

Was this a prototype Taipan there is no marking from the factory at all.
But it is a Taipan bullpup, right side.

Left side no marking at all, stock is different as well.

It uses a different style mag too.


Now moving on to the Taipan2

It looks like it uses the same mag design.

They sell the Taipan 2 in the E.U. but not here why, and which is better?
What mag, design is better?

Then the last pic, says made in the U.S. & has a plastic wined up mag.
With a different stock also, & a bolt action.
What the deal with that one? :popcorn:

yep….
also the trigger on the taipan looks better, more solid.
the taipan, i bet is more quite, looks like it as more baffels in the can. :mrgreen:

Just based on the mag alone the Taipan Mutant looks to be the better choice. The only time I’d pick a spring mag would be if it was semi-auto.

ok the shorty has a cousin thats short it’s the raptor.
it has a big following in the e.u. and has a form too its self there.

so here are some pix of the raptor.

I kinda like the ugly version. Simple, ugly and very effective. When the .25 TM comes out I will have one.

that’s all pic’s i have in my PC for taipan lol .. i did search for it in Ukrainian forum found an interesting and an excellent stocks but sadly hard to contact’em 🙁

That’s a pretty interesting design. I’d like to see that attached to the action to get a complete look. Do you have any other pics of this stock you found?

But the guy never wrote me back on the idea.
I rember on the Cricket post some guy, was showing off his work, Jamie & I told him too make some 4 the Taipan, but nothing happend with it.

i have talk to that guy he makes great laser cheekering for stocks .. his name lurii he lives where taipan maker lives ” Ukraine ” but he’s quite busy and from what i understand he make stocks in his free time because he has other business to do …

here is the stock i attend to make from him ..for shorty taipan but maybe not now …. i’ll wait for it

Took him 16 days till i got a tracking number….

very reasonably priced ….. He didn’t have any walnut all out till end of sept. so i opted for that.
