.25 Delrin hammer spring guide to reduce spring noise
Finally got a chance to tune a .25.
1st thing I notic was a loose spring near the hammer (no spring guide)– a lot of slop and you can hear it too. see photo, you can see the spring guide on the HSTA so I made a guide to fill that area.

now this .25 sound solid with no spring noise, she shooting kings at 935fps and sound as quiet as the .25 cricket at the same FPE.

I thik I will give this a go anyway, shotcount is not an issue but i want to keep it as silent as possible.
Next time I have it apart, may just stick a larger M7 or M8 disk/washer ring on that shoulder/step washer. not ideal, it is not one piece.
The outer diameter of the shoulder should be at least 12.7 mm or better slightly more. This one OD is 10 mm so it will push the hammer whole way and it will not stop against the action. This theoretically my reduce shot count due to hammer bounce.
Also with thickness of just 1.5 mm I wonder if it is strong enough.

did a search on shoulder washers, spacers and quite a few decent hits. maybe it is cheap as dirt. if we can get it in the right size.
need to confirm if the O.D. OK, M5 ID is ok but maybe the OD will not be just too small for the spring any ideas?

Seriously – it´s a very well made piece of hush-hush Can. Works really good on both .22 WMR & .17 HMR as well. No muzzle report. The supersonic crack is impossible to quiet down though.
Looks nice Ville. Is it the kind that can be taken apart to clean? My 1st Gem Tec could only be taken apart at the factory for cleaning. This one I have now the user can disassemble for cleaning.

It is! It’s an FAC ( or a Fag ) item here as well. Not so in many other EU countries though.
It’s almost impossible to get a FAC for a .22 LR silencer in Sweden if you aren’t a certified Verminator. For bigger cals it’s no problem though.

Ville, you know why a .30 is not stupid? Because some of us live in States that are an aspiring to be Eastern block post WWII regimes. Getting a silencer would be out of the question. Now that is really gay…

That means you have a good suppressor. And a good one also has one more feat : it tightens your groups a bit. I think it’s due it taming the excessive, hardly bearable .22 LR recoil 🙂
Mine is of a “reflex” kind so it exceeds the barrel by just 12 cm/5″ . The rest is “over barrel” . Really effective Can.
I use Eley standard velocity .22s when hunting with it, all you hear is the bolt working.

Kris. If you will try this can you do ten shot string with and without to see of there will be a change in FPS spread.
Vulcan 177 and 22 got the brass spring retainer to reduce hammer bounce to save air but more important to reduce FPS.
This is not needed in 25 caliber as regulator pressure is hight at 150 Bar so any hammer pounce will not be strong enough to open the valve anyway. I think 177 vulcan regulator pressure is 90 Bar and 22 is 120 Bar.
If you have already lowered your regulator pressure this will make it theoretically more susceptible to hammer bounce and spring retainer with large OD may be vital.
