Q:

My .30 cal Shortie.

Wanted to try a .30 shortie, knowing with a short barrel the speed was going to be slower and louder. With a TJ .30 barrel cut to 12″ with a mod HW LDC AOL is 25″

So the speed at 140b is 700fps with 44g.
That’s 48fpe.

28 shots from a 250b fill.

The sound level about the same as the .25 cricket. Now test how she shoots. I tested this barrel before on the 9mm cricket that was grouping 1/2″” @50y. The key is how to hold this .30 shortie!

Here is my .30 probe that is make out Delrin–vary smooth and quiet to slide in and out.

You will need a Regulator tester with a Vulcan Sleeve.

no sleeve needed for the Vulcan…. Just the Proper size regulator tester. (the Vulcan has the Largest Regulator out of all the Pups…)

You can use a cricket/eddie tester and a sleeve to test the P12 or the Mutant… but the Vulcan is just too big.

You will need a Regulator tester with a Vulcan Sleeve.

:hoot:

How DO I adjust the regulator upwards on my Vulcan? Don’t I need an adjustment tool????

1) I’m trying to live on a fixed income! I’m doing good to own the pcp I’ve got!

B) Why do people raise the price just because the caliber went up 5000ths of an inch? I don’t have $2000 to drop on another pcp.

III) The only way I’ll get a .30 caliber is to sell what I’ve got, and I’m not certain I’ll get what I paid, plus I’m not certain I’ll gain enough performance to make that effort.

Perhaps I should just raise the pressure on my regulator, and live with the .25! 60 fpe would suit me just fine. Now, if I could just find that post where Ernest showed how to adjust the regulator…

Dear Bird….

At my age a “hard dick” is a difficult policeman!

Could a .30 caliber barrel be fitted to a Vulcan .25? I’m curious if bumping the regulator up to 140 or so would provide the extra power needed. Of course, it would have to be a single shot, but I’m ok with that.

Hoot:

I can verify this! Shortie is accurate out to a buck 30 we don’t have much more room to shoot unless we get up and move and set up a table maybe another 15 to 20 yards. It still has power at that range it is hitting with a nice smack!
