.25 kalibr cricket
Hi guys need your help and advice please..I’m over in England and picked up my .25 cricket on Friday but it’s not very consistent over the chrono and seems to spike all over the place..shot to shot seems to vary fps as much as 20 fps but then it will settle for a bit with 7 fps spread but then goes wild again
What is the cause of this and is it an easy fix??

Yes, it’s not hard to do yourself.
Just make sure you drain all the air out of the AT.
You don’t need to take apart the entire gun to do the fix.
Just unscrew the front end cap/gauge end off it should be on hand tight, but if it’s hard to remove insert a large enough wooden dowel into the fill port and turn it loose.
Replace the bad large O-ring with 3mm X 24 mm Buna N70 or you could use a harder V75 Viton if you like Sir.

Check to see if there is any sharp burrs on the inside treads, if so use 600 g lightly/sparingly on it.
Clean off the threads with alcohol.
Lube up with Molykote 55 and replace/screw the end cap on very slowly.
Insert the fill probe to check for clearance and the alignment you want.
When refilling with air make sure you cock the gun to take the hammer tension off of the valve and your good to go my friend !
On the inconsistency, post a full chrony string result from a full fill down pass the reg cut off point.
I don’t think it’s your hammer spring.
It could be that your valve spring retainer backed out, you may need to check.
If so, indent the threads once with a small punch and reinstall it to the same location.
Usually anywhere from 1/2-1 turn CW after it touches the spring.
It could be the 2 small O-rings inside of the reg are bad/junk/poor quality ones.
2mm x 10mm and 2mm x 4mm.
To replace takes a bit of time but you don’t need a tester just take good measurement on the OAL before.

No, Corvidhunter it is not normal. With good quality O-rings and properly installed, there should be zero leakage. After mine sits for weeks I’ve notice that some of the silicone grease used to lube the O-rings leaches out and makes a very small wet spot around the hole but that is normal. If the leak is as small as your describing I wouldn’t sweat it. Just shoot the gun and enjoy it. In the mean time gather up some good O-rings, re-watch Ernest’s videos a few times so later you can change them out yourself.

Covid are you talking about the bleed hole that is on the air cylinder?
I’d let it stand for a few more days and keep an eye on the gauge. Keep testing with some soapy water just to make sure it’s still leaking.
Gun has come bk from warranty repair but still has that tiny leak from the pin hole up near the charge port..some say it’s just residual air and is not a leak and others say it’s definitely a leak from somewhere
When you place spit over the pin hole it forms a bubble which very slowly increases in size until it pops but does take some time to do it..gun does not seemed to have moved on the gauge over a 12 hour period but I will continue to monitor the gauge

Please help as this is very frustrating and the gun shop is refusing to take it bk as they are adamant it has no issues and have charged me for the recent return
Greg is right as usual about the cricket. I have around 12 to 15000 pellets through mine with NO issues. But I had Ernest do a fantastic tune to it with ALL new O-rings. Get good O-rings and replace the original ones.
Corvidhunter, that’s a tattle-tale hole that lets you know one of the O-rings has started leaking by. There’s also another one just in front of the breech on the side of the air tube. You can check out some really great Youtube videos by Ernest Rowe that will address how to change them if your so inclined. Not a big deal, even a Ohian could do it. 😎 As far as the inconsistent velocities it might just be some drag on the hammer so that it’s not striking the valve the same every time. Might also be just the lighting that the chronograph is seeing.

Thanks guys for putting my mind at rest..it’s a cracking little rifle and mine will be running 50-52 ft lbs with jsb 25.39 pellets..it certainly hits a lot harder than my air ranger running 965 fps 18 grains for 37ft lbs..love my ranger it’s capable shooting corvids out at 130 yards in the right conditions..I decided on the cricket .25 because of it’s consistency which makes for a better long range rifle..I can’t wait to get it back and out in the hunting field..I was surprised that it hated H&N barracuda 31.02 grains at 860″spat them out at 2 inch groups at just 40 yards”very odd…what do you guys run in your .25??
The O-rings use by the factory are of poor quality lasting about several months, a year or so and some even longer.
But once it’s replaced with new hi quality ones, the Crickets are one of the finest most accurate PB out there !
The one of the main reason I bought the 2 I have is that I’m overseas and needed to be able to service the guns myself.
Shot over 20,000 pellets through them both, and are problem free for over two years.
Now just playing around with the different speed adjustment on the Compact 177 is very fun.
I need and use it for indoor pesting in shopping malls, so I need to dial the fpe (8-20) down for that.
Crickets are very easy to work on, AWESOME, AWESOME GUNS !!!

The issue you have is nothing more than what we stated above. Probably an o-ring or loose part in your regulator. 20 minutes apart on a bench and it’ll be right as rain. My 25 Synthetic Cricket was bought brand new from WWAG a few years ago when the “two stock bolt” guns came out. Many tins of pellets later and it shoots & behaves like the day I got it, and I never did a thing to it. Have no fear, brother. You bought the right gun. I have three Crickets & three Colibri’s and they all run perfectly. Once in a while something mechanical like this comes up and you will have to replace an o-ring or make an adjustment. Its the reason they send an O-ring kit with the gun. It happens and its part of the air gun game. Luckily you have a shop that will do it, if you’re not comfortable or the guns still under warranty. Truth be told the Crickets have one of the better service records. The Colibri’s needed a tweak or two, FX guns also, now guys are digging into $1700 Vulcans to fix issues. Don’t despair.. You’ll have it back soon and be shooting ragged little .25 holes.

Thank you for all your replies”the shop in question where I purchased the gun are going to pick the gun up and correct all the issues.i must admit my confidence has now dropped and I’m left wondering if this was a huge mistake..I only ever read good things on the kalibr cricket .25 but sadly this one has issues
How good are these guns and do they go wrong all the time with O rings etc?? I just want a gun that won’t let me down

When I picked up my 25 brand new I noticed the same thing it turned out to be the oring retainer in my reg came loss and just needed to be tightened down

On the cylinder underneath up by the end is a little pin hole..not sure what it’s for but air is coming out of it..place spit over the whole and it creates a bubble then pops..I’m sure this is not meant to be the case??

Unfortunately I’ve not had time to enjoy the cricket as the gun shop have had it longer than me now..would be nice to have a gun finally fixed and with no air leak
