Advice for Vulcan cleaning
Oh wise sages of Vulcan Airgun Realm….AKA old Farts…obviously excluding myself and Ville, as I’ve seen a picture of he and he looks about my age. Or perhaps he has pickled himself at his bar. Anyway on to the subject.
I’ve been out in the field scrambling the brains of rabbit and squirrel :5: a few times without a good cleaning of my gun when returning. Raining in my neck of the woods today and I thought I would give my lovely, awesome Vulcan a good cleaning. I’ve used the Hoppe’s wipes pictured on my PB guns in the past and am wondering if these would be ok to use on Vulcan, however I don’t want to use products that would damage performance or internals.
What products, how and how often do you use them? Anything you could offer is welcomed! :8:

If you will review my original post I excluded you from the Old Fart list. For barrel: BALLISTOL
For metalwork: BALLISTOL
For stock: BALLISTOL
Oh and I forgot

I also use the Patch Worm kit for all of my fire arms, with “Gunzilla” on the internals and Ballistol or Rem Oil on the external stuff. I feel that wiping down with the Rem Oil gives my stock a deeper, darker shine. I find all three products to be excellent.

This is what I been using for the cricket (still figuring the vulcan but likely the same)

I don’t use hand lotions but when I do, I use Ballistol
Wow. Seriously, you guys don’t think a slightly over sized (compressed) patch spinning in the rifling cleans all the surfaces? My heavy fishing line approach pulls dirty patches that eventually pull clean.
The patch worm looks like a great product but I just wanted to throw something else out there for those that have some heavy line or weed wacker line laying around.
For metal I use a little touch of Ballistol I find the smell pleasant and it cleans well.
What about wiping down and protecting the metal and wood stock? The CLP’s I see for firearms seem a bit aggressive for a PCP. What do you guys recommend for our Vulcan’s that don’t generate those nasty combustion products?

:8: :8: :8: you beat me to it Jan. Mooseknuckle, Your only cleaning a portion of your barrel pulling through with a loop. Think about it. Patch Worm covers ALL the surface of the bore……
Ahhhh… now I have to purchase the worm patch to find out.
If you did “same” patch worm just with a loop at end you did not get same cleaning result like with original one. 😉
