reg tester
just another idea, maybe if a suitable adapter would be found, the venting grubscrew hole could be used to fit a manometer to it. i take it that is post reg so it will give the true reading of the current reg setting
must be a tough little adapter/fitting, with a little gauge on it, the smaller the better. and not to be used very often/so you don’t mess up the threading.
this is not a tool to adjust the reg, but just to get a reading. 😀

just use a short bit of tube with internal diameter larger than 5mm ( so it fits over the the cocking indicator) cut from for example a body of disposable ball point pens,
replace the hammer spring with the tube.
not my idea, read it on another forum. does not cost a thing. and you still use the power adjuster to force it in and open the valve. the gun will vent throught the barrel
Yes, the hex-slot. I have not taken mine apart yet. If you replace the hex-slot hammer spring retainer wit a solid (non-hollow) socket that has the same threads, as you thread it back in it would press on the hammer shaft that pushes on the air valve and opens it. Did anyone come up with something like that for the Gen2?
Hex screw inside the HST ? Haven’t seen one of those. Or you mean the hex slot ? I’m lost .. 🙂

Exactly so ! Ernest had them for sale for Crickets. Actually even a piece of wooden towel in right length/OD used together with the adjuster ( the HS removed of course ) will do the job.

Sir Ville…what is that device? Does it screw in the hole with the HST removed and as you tighten it presses on the tank’s air valve pin?
There you see : Thinking / believing what the reg is set gets you nowhere. Regs are individuals and the only way of knowing for sure is to use a tester.
Guessing games are sometimes fun but not really sufficient while one tries to tune a PCP. Good job !
I was thinking all the time that my reg is set to 90bar (.177) well it is 68bar. I see now why I don’t get any hammer slap just blowby noise from the action.

that venting hole is in a bit awkward position, an airbrush adaptor would have fitted but those have wrong thread pitch so no luck, so the air tube must be removed.
Octavius you vent using your hands, I used Teflon tape and there is another small o ring on the bottom of the port, so by undoing the manometer just few degrees starts the slow vent. there are many threads in there luckily the port is deep.I have not tried without Teflon tape, maybe the o ring is sufficient to seal. I used both at the same time.
but it was cheap and I am happy to know what is it set to.
to adjust it, well it may need a few iterations, but all you need to measure its original length and turn it in or out by a known length. I hope it helps.
p.s. my gun has got a vent hole with the blanking grubscrew

Guys are you sure is still need cricket/edgun tester for Vulcan regulator???
According my last information from Dman isn’t possible do this way. If something is changed I’d be happy…
