Best Hand pump??
Who makes the best hand pump?
I want one for backup that will pump up to 4500psi
Something that will last and that is easily rebuilt if needed, with readily available parts.
Thanks,
NH

I had a Hill Mk3 and FX 4 stage, sold the Hill – still have the FX. I use it in 3 stage mode and it’s faster than Hill and the position of feet is more comfortable for me. I rebuilt both pumps, FX was actually a bit easier.
Hi Gku,do you still have the IZH 61 still for sale, I’ll buy it PLMK thanks rodney

From my research (after buying Cricket), looks like real Hill Pump from UK is not making pumps anymore. Hill MK3 was their last one. MK4 is made by someone else, appears to be comparable to any other pump.
I own a MK3 from 2013, love it. Have been filling Marauder since then, no water issues. I still use it to pump Cricket to 250bar.
Recently, I bought a Bull PCP pump, 4500psi from AliExpress. The tube quality is impressive, hose is flimsy. It was cheap too($135). I defintety recommend it over any $200+ pump. The pump is easier to strip/service than Hill (search on youtube). It has a inlet port too.
I have rigged up a dessicant kit and manufacturer recommends charging this pump using a compressor. I am setting compressor at 25psi, as I reach upwards of 300bar, I turn it down to 10psi. My desiccant setup is improvisation of someone’s idea from web. Two1.5L bottles of silica gel (re-usable) and one small bottle of molecular seive (expensive, not re-usable). Silica gel is good, but slower to absorb moisture. The whole point of setup is to increase air-desiccant contact time.
I have Hill pump MK2 version with dryer. Every 2 mounts I strip and clean all inside parts of the pump then I take out all taws and put it into the frying-pan to oven at 120°C approx 30min
When all cleaning process is done I put all taws back to the dryer. 😉
Also if there’s a lot of moister coming out the bleed off there’s more then possible it’s making it’s way into your gun.
If so I’d think of getting the Hill they come with a moister filter attached that works pretty well compared to having none.

Yeah, I pumped to about 235bar today with the 3 stage. The anoying part is the wait when it “overheats”
It depend there about the same in performance and quality, just that the FX is harder to rebuild IMO, I had the FX 4 stage hand pump.
The difference with the FX 3 and 4 stage is that the 4th stage is easier to pump up set at stage 4 but with less volume and higher stroke count.
Yes, you can switch it back and forth from 3 to 4.
Set to the 4th stage is great for women and youths, but it’s to easy for an adult male where the FX 3 stage would be a better buy.

So is the hill pump better than the fx pump?
But if u need to reach 4500 psi the only 2 that clam that can do it is Air Venturi G6, but I don’t personally know if it’s a good buy because I never owned one.

The other pump that can reach 4500psi and beyond, but I don’t what to recommend it because comes from an “M” China Ripping-Off the prick Vender.

Correct,
The HILLs are great pumps but not 4500 psi capable,….the G6 I believe is the same that Flying dragon and Mrodair sell,…. I had one and it’s a pretty good pump.
I had 4 different pumps and one of them is the Hill mk3 was the easiest to rebuild among them all.

I have a hill mk4 pump.
It works like a charm. Although it is quite pricey, you really get the feeling of quality.
Night , You need to PM Hoot , it is said that by far he is the best in hand pumping . At least that is what Sir Ville says . Hoot: Hoot: Hoot:
