Q:

Making stock for Airmax PCP Pistol

So I been stewing over what to do with this pistol since I’m no fricking pistolero. So today I went to Home Depot and grabbed a 6′ pieces of 3/4′ red oak for 26 bucks. Here where I’m at right now. Getting ready to saw a 1x6x3/4″ piece in half.

Yes designed and carved myself.

:hoot:

Dear Milk-Sak…

Where did the butt stock come from? Did you carve it from scratch?

Hoot:

Ok well I ordered a couple taps and a few stainless screws 6-32 and kinda fixed the trigger on this pos. Dug it’s worthless Airmax back out the scrap pile. Run up to auto parts grabbed a can of bedliner and finished this pos project?

We’ll see…:)

Well, that is one damn fine looking piece of handy work and thanks for this info. I may need to pick up another hobby that I have absolutely no time for. You could just do a great service for the board and document the making of another. Of course since you already have one you could send the spare to me….

haha…thanks man. This was my first ever carving too! I was so excited that it kept working out throughout. It folds in half…I have a folding stock adapter on it.

How did you get the tube adapter attached in a manner that it is durable enough to take the daily rigors and not crack out or break off?

I drilled out a hole in the back and epoxied an aluminum ring inside of it that I had threaded to match the ar stock and adapter. It’s rock solid.

What kind of carving equipment did you use! Why put a folding stock on a carving tool? I’m confused.

Hoot:

Hoot…What I meant was that I put a folding stock adapter on the stock/handle I carved from the wood.
The tools I used were a hand held belt sander that I clamped upside down in a vice, some files, lots and lots of sandpaper, some drill bits wrapped with sandpaper to router out the inside of it, a dremel tool a little bit and more sandpaper….oh, and one of my pocket knifes.

Hook , Your AirMax looks really nice , almost want you to make one for me , however , it would have to be in
a .30 caliber in order to work for me . Still one of the best mods I have seen so far .

I just saw this….thank you so much. I got my .25 cal barrel for it. I just need to work on it. I’ve got lots more to do to it . I made a new trigger for it. I just carved it out of aluminum after cutting it out with an angle grinder.

Absolutely gorgeous!

If mine ever arrives on that slow boat from China that occasionally gets mentioned by the vendor I’d love to have something left me this. I’m not near skilled enough to pull this off so I hope the pistol gets popular enough for a mass produced stock adapter.
