Leshiy #88

After a bit of tuning, here are some numbers I’m happy with…. For now. The gun is very well built and very simple to work on. I’ve had this puppy completely apart with the exception of the magnet portion on the cylinder. :suprisedn:

65 Degrees F
Yes that is important when your working next to a wood stove that heats up the area fast. The pressure will change in this small cylinder pretty quick. :winkn:

245 Bar fill (using the gauge on the gun)
JSB kings 25.4
6 inches from Chronograph.

1. 245 bar 751 fps
2. 233 Bar 750 fps
3. 221 Bar 752 fps
4. 210 Bar 751 fps
5. 199 Bar 748 fps
6. 187 bar 752 fps
7. 175 bar 751 fps
8. 164 bar 754 fps
9. 153 bar 753 fps
10. 141 bar 757 fps
11. 133 bar 756 fps
12. 121 bar 752 fps
13. 114 bar 744 fps
14. 106 bar 724 fps

97 Bar End

Hey X cool Leshiy …….

Questions,
How hard is it to decock the gun ?
Is it possible or too hard to re-cock it by manually/hand pushing the rod forward instead of fold cocking or is it too hard to do ?
When in the folded position for long periods does Ed recommend it to be decock ?

thanks ~ Greg

Greg,

It’s easy…. all you do is fold the gun enough to put pressure on the cocking arm, Pull the trigger and ride it back. I do it all the time. I prefer to keep it uncocked, even in the field sometimes. Think of it like a condor or talon. :8:

From the Leshiy manual:

quote :

13. Information about Long-term Storage of the Gun.
The Pre-charged Pneumatic Airgun Leshiy is designed to be stored for up to a twelve-month period of non-use. If you plan on storing the gun longer than 12 months, special care should be taken to relax the springs with the humidity and temperature kept at normal levels.

Another life ago I used to be an industrial valve repairman. I would set pressure relief valves for oil refineries and pipelines. I learned that a compressed spring does not wear out. What wears a spring out is the act of decompression. Over time a spring violently releasing its tension will cause spring wear. The pressure relief valves that were in the most use required spring replacement more often than the secondary check valves that sat under consent tension.

Thanks guys,

I just want/need to see if the Lesh will fit into my application before getting one ……. still just thinking.

I store mine folded so I’ll tell you soon 😉

Belive that test was for 2 weeks. I wonder what happens to the spring in 2 months

There is a video by Ed on YT with a test if keeping the gun folded damages the spring. The result is promising. I also asked Ed if the spring can be damaged and he replied that if the spring works in its working window (not too tight) it should last long. What is more the springs are cheap.

Holdin it in the field in the un-folded action ready would be nice.
Thing is where I live the critters get spooked very easily the less movement on my part the better my kill rate.
Hum, so it’s okay to have it cock when it’s folded (won’t it fatigue the hammer spring ?), so using the safety for long periods in the field would be a useful option.

Also ……. any owners have the fixed triggers pull weight ?

~ Thanks ~ Greg

It is recommended to keep it folded actually…

Sweet :8: looks a bit odd with that big scope though

Agreed… Especially with the camera setup. However, It’s what I need to do right now to capture some hunting footage. I wish I had a better setup! At least a better camera that recorded high speed in HD.. :sadn:

I posted this over in the hunting section. Here is a link to it, if your interested.
