Now I need a new gun to install all the new stuff on,

COMMENTS ARE WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1 Vulcan 25 Gen 4 all black
2 Mutant 25 standard
3 Mutant 25 shorty,
Seems like 90% of my shots are 50 yards and below, and the little shorty’s are so fun to shoot ,
I could just keep the two Crickets for the long range stuff,
Four PCPs well that shoots the rule of two PCP guns out the window.
A poor man in a rich mans sport, Just sucks.

Rowdy
Not sure where you can find a better trigger, The Mutant trigger is in a class of its on,
I think you would be more than happy with a standard Mutant,
Its called the Mutant TRAP, Once you buy one your hooked, Just ask ANYONE that’s got one……
I think Tony likes to talk guns your not going to bother him, Call him up and ask about the long guns?
or just donate 20 bucks to the TAG forum and call him up and get your moneys worth,
Mike

Mike, I do look forward to your take on your new .25 shorty and the ffp scope…

I hate to call and bother Tony about the .22 longs. He is really busy. I just hope he can get me one though. Don’t mind the weight on one… These are quite well built, in many of the areas the others have not just cut corners, JIMO; they have hacked these corners off πŸ™‚ while the mutants have some real quality built in the corners as well as everything about them that I can tell…

You guys keep an eye out for the .22 long, and please let me hear about those soon as possible…

You guys are braver than me, I am scared shitless for them to cut on me,
Call Tony at Talon Tunes and see if he has any Mutant long guns coming in,
I know there was some talk about people wanting a 177 Mutant shorty.
When I get my 25 Mutant in I will post up a review on the gun and my new to me FFP scope.
Mike

Anyway, get well soon Rowdy, been through 2 surgeries within 3 1/2 months last year. Just when you think you’re up and running again, you’re back on the damed table…
Take it slow for a while, you’ll get better faster in the end.
All the best

Good points here on this read. While I am not a customer of a Mutant right now, I will be of a .22 long, then if all good with it maybe a .22 short… Plain and simple for me on these ag’s is the trigger quality…

I was so disappointed when the new Veteran’s showed up and no option for the long, no .25 shorty either. Now I read here about you getting the .25 shorty, so things are still in the process of expanding; sounds good and is possible of the .22 long might be also someday.

I look forward to threads like this to read how things work out. What makes this site just what it is too. I had surgery yesterday on my shoulder, right in the back portion of my right side. Actually got 3 damn cuts, one in the top of my neck in the back, then the one that’s in the shoulder, then one in my arm at the top portion of my shoulder. Just basically cut all to hell… Sore as all the devil right now too.

So no shooting for me right now anyway, I am doing all I can just to shoot and hit the head with my pisser, and I am not kidding at all. These 3 cuts are 3″ or more each, and have darn sure took my tuff mean ass to the turf in one days time πŸ™‚ Feel like a broken down old goat, even though we already have one of those here πŸ™‚
πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Mike,
Where did you hear about the .25 shorty coming and its time frame anyway? Not seen anything on this. I might need to look or go wherever to check for the possibility of a .22 long anytime in the near future.

While I have liked everything about what you and others have said about the .22 shorty I really rather get a long, first… Then pick up a shorty later.

Money to tight to just buy a shorty right now, when I know I want the long…These doctor and hospital charges are not realistic at all after Obama Care has taken over… Dammedis thing I have ever seen, much as all this stuff cost I just had done, you would think at least it wouldn’t hurt so bad! The pain meds they will let you buy now does nothing to help.

So while I am down and out, at least I get to follow your purchase on your new shorty. Your scope you have for this, its a ffp, that sounds fun to me. I’ve wanted to get one on a AG for a while now. So look forward with your getting that all up and dialed in as well.

My thing will be with a Mutant, first see how well these triggers are. From what I have seen, as well as read here; they are exactly what I want. Then I may take on moving the location of the cocking lever. I really like the cocking lever just in front of the trigger, least I think so.
Not ever messing around with a bullpup, not sure on this. May not be an issue where they have that,as is.

The new magazine’s sound great with being able to use the predator polymag’s… Looking forward to reading your take as well as others with the new Veteran’s…

No No Hoot, I heard about that guy that got confused that hooked his oxygen supply hose to his PCP bottle it filled his lungs so fast he never needed oxygen again as in never,   Get off the moonshine Hoot, Peyote is all natural , Hoot found out how I have been paying for my hobby, He really wants a 25 Mutant He has been walking up and down the road for weeks looking for cans, all he can find is bottles
Mike

Foxback
I agree I have heard the little .25 will be shooting the 25gr pellet at 800 FPS +
I will settle for 799 FPS , Not a foot less, or I will get hold of Dman and give him both barrels πŸ˜› πŸ˜› πŸ˜›

Mike

From what I’ve heard….

and read is the 25. shorty, will be shooting around 800-830 fps,
with 25 gr. It would be around 40-42 fpe.

Too me those numbers are pretty good for what I’m after. I really don’t care if it’s not going too do 50 fpe. It took me a while, trying a few different bullpups, it find out what I like in a bullpup.

I remember reading from Edgun, that with the 25. you want it shooting at a good speed, but not too hott. It will have a better effect on game.

The 25 Lelya, would shoot 27fpe, yes not enough in 25.

So I think it will be a good short, multi shot bullpup that will shoot in the low 40 foot pound range. That I can use Predator pellets, with the same great trigger.

I also when into this thinking, even if the new 25. shorty comes out shooting with the same power as the 22 standard Taipan. Which is 37 fpe, I can work with it and be happy.
Other things can be done, to boost the power, Swiss cheese reg spacer & a few other tricks.

Just have too see how it all plays out.
Just my two cents worth. :2cents:

:hoot:

Iride…you senile old fool~ If you’d stop putting those Peyote buttons in your morning cereal…you would think much clearly!

What good is it to have a .25 that shoots as hard, and as far, as I can piss???

C’mon, let’s be reasonable, if you can shoot at a bird at 45 yards, put the gun down, pick up your smart phone, put it in camera mode, focus it on the target, and STILL have time to set in on “video” mode, before the pellet gets to the bird, well, I guess two things…either you are under-powered, or you need to check your portable oxygen tank supplier’s reputation, because he may be slipping you some helium!!! (Has your voice changed pitch lately?)

Poor old fucker…already has one eye drifting in towards his nose…that’s not so bad at his age, but it’s the eye he aims with. There are no “birds” in the deserts of West Texas…what he’s seeing are “floaters” inside his eyebulb!

Hoot:

From what I was told the .25 shorty is going to be a fast seller like the 22 shorty,
And I know its not going to have the power of a 24” barrel Condor, or the knock down power of a Texan,
(Oh , I like that, A knock down POWER of a TEXAN now that sounds cool)
But I am 99.5 % sure its going to take a sparrow out at 48 yards,,
If all else fails I can use it as my coyote and Raccoon gun..
I do have to sneak up on the prey and hit it over the head with said GUN…………. It can be done.
Just hide and watch,
Mike = Texan

I done heard lotsa bitching about Taipan really missing the mark and what not by not coming out with a .25 shorty but now that it’s materializing all I hear are crickets (silence, not the airgun). Only you and Foxback are talking about getting one that I’ve seen thus far on the forums.

May be taken Bizill up on his offer,
I am not 100% happy with the FPS speed of my 22 shorty, But I looked at the new Veteran 25 Mutant standard,
I did get my slide ruler and my calipers out, Did not do anything with them, but I got them out , and it sounds pretty cool.
Heck if anyone had the .25 Priest in, I am sure I would end up with one of them, I was pretty well saved from that gun as no one had the .25 in stock,
Back to the Mutant, If they can get 900FPS out of the new 22 shorty , I am sure the 25 shorty will clear 800 FPS, and that’s enough for sparrows in my range of 48 yards,
and I can always dig into the money pit send the gun off and have it super tuned, souped up, charged up,
or just shoot the Gammo raptor .25 14gr pellets , I will be shooting the side of the barn at 25 yards, three out of five shots :4: :4: :4:
Mike

Don’t listen to my main man, Hoot. Listen to me and just go ahead and purchase the Taipan Veteran .25 shorty and if you don’t like it, I’ll buy it from you straight up for half of what you paid being that it’ll be used. That way you don’t have to be stuck with it.

:hoot:

Never buy a pig in a poke, never go on a blind date, never kiss a fat girl in the back seat of a two door car!!!

The .25 Mutant has yet to be received and tested. It may go the route of the first .25 Lelya…under-performing for what you pay. If you decide to go with the Mutant Shorty .25, at least wait until someone gets one and verifies what the performance factor turns out to be. FPS/FPE, shot count in the real world, handling, etc…all are different strokes for different folks.

It’s too much money to spend until you know exactly what you are getting…you may be keeping it a long time, or eating $$ if you don’t like it.

Yes I have tried it , I need some eye relief from the scope , I start looking cross eyed it I look through the scope to long,
Birzill
I have played with the scope out the window , I am with holding any judgment until it is gun mounted, Its going to be different.
Mike

you can pin, a non side foreword cocking bullpup.
into your shoulder, and work the lever in the back.

and never take your eyes from the scope.
i’ve seen Russian guys do the same thing. :biggrinn:

try it some time. :biggrinn:
